Half blocked sniper Bolt length issue (front end length, ahead of orings)

    Hey gang,

Picked up a dope half blocked sniper awhile back here in a trade, but I went to upgrade the bolt to a SSC half block bolt and sled, and noticed that new ssc bolt is longer on the front/face end than the original, which leads to ball feed issues as the bolt intrudes into the breech by smidge (see pics, bolt just sticks into the breech when pumped back)

im wondering if a tech-t hush bolt would fix this. I checked lengths of the original bolt and the ssc bolt against the techt hush bolt on my t2, which fits into the sniper and does not stick into the breach (obviously the detent relief was in the wrong spot but it worked otherwise).

so…do I buy a tech-t hush (and which one?) or do I sand down the bolt front/face of the SSC one I have now? Thoughts?
Rockin' a Phantom and a T2...CCI & CCM for the win.

What about putting an inception designs hammer in it? The slot on the top is longer to give more bolt clearance when cocked.

Hmm…that could be an option. I had not considered that…

I'm having the same issue with my brand new ssc half block bolt kit. I was considering the Inception hammer as well. My ssc half block sled is also too tall, and the bolt does not line up. I'm going to try sanding it down a bit thinner. Subbing to this thread also to see how you resolve this !

Why can’t you just increase the length of the pump arm. Is it hitting on the lower tube slot?

yeah I believe the bolt pin touched the rear of the slot when fully pumped. Changing arm length won’t help here because the actual distance the bolt needs to travel either has to be longer (this is where the inception hammer comes in I guess, allowing it to sit a bit further back in the hammer may give me the space I need) OR changing the bolt’s front/face length would have to be the other option (which is where a different bolt or sanding down the current one come into play)

I would prefer to not have to sand down the current bolt but it might be the most straight forward and cheapest option, since I already bought it with the sled. I do not really love the idea of the bolt being jerry-rigged in such a fashion, and would prefer a properly finished appropriate length bolt…but I’m totally unsure if the tech-t bolt idea or the inception hammer will provide my solution.

anyone wanna weigh in on those options?
