    Strange Sniper Issue

For the past month I've been trying to figure out what is going on with my Mini Orracle sniper. The only notable change made was swapping the CCM frame for a Mozak. Since single the frame swap, the gun has not been able to shoot above 200FPS except if the regulator output is at around 260psi. Obviously that is far too low, previously I had it sweetapotted around 330psi. Initially I thought this was a bad cupseal/valve stem seal. Which prompted me to swap valve and then swap the hole lower tube from another working sniper. Nothing has worked.

I'm starting to lean towards it possibly being a problem with the regulator. Although, it hasn't shown an keep on my pressure tester. Below are the parts used for reference. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    -Mini Orracle Body
    -Inception Drift Pump Kit
-Inception Trident Bolt -Inception v3 Regulator
    -Full CCM Lower Tube
    -Mozak Thin 45° Frame

What generation of Trident Bolt? I had some issues with the trident bolt on my Ripper getting above 240 FPS. I swapped out the bolt and it was shooting hot!

Bizarre that the trigger frame is making that large of a difference. Maybe the sear is at a different location and dropping earlier. You could try a heavier main spring.

It is the latest generation Trident bolt. I didn't consider the sear. Thank You

No sweat! Good luck. I hope it's an easy fix!

Any chance the hammer lug is dragging on the trigger frame/plate?

It might be slowing it down so it doesn’t hit the valve hard enough. The lower pressure would be easier for a slow hammer to knock open, which gave you your higher velocity.

The lug isn't set very because I wanted a very crips and quick pull. Even still, I'll check that out. Thanks!

Why is "too low" a pressure a problem? If you can get field velocities at 260, why is that a problem? Sounds like that's the valve's "sweet spot".

As for the difference between the grip frames, one possible is where the sear is located. If the sear is further back, that both gives the hammer more travel before it hits the valve, and tends to compress the mainspring a tad more- and it doesn't take much of either to make a 70FPS change. I don't know if there IS a difference on those two particular frames, but that'd be something to look at.

I say it's too low due to the shot signature (fart) and poor efficiency compared to how it was before the frame swap. The sear location isn't something that I considered previously. I'l compare the position between the two frame. Thanks!

Okay some interesting findings related to the sear(s) and hammer. The CCM frame has a very quick breakaway action in addition to a slightly lower seer position. When looking at the hammer it appears that the sear is dragging on it. This most likely is the source of the problem. Additionally, the trigger pull due to it being a slide frame (Mozak) is a much slower action than the CCM frame.

Now assuming that a frame swap solves the issue, would a different sear in the Mozak frame potential solve this issue? Or would it be due to the mounting position of the sear in the frame? Or both?

Can the lug go up at all? Probably something you already looked into, but just raising it enough that it can’t drag?

Yea it can be raised a little more. The sear is drag on the body of the hammer though.

Hmm, is it a roller sear? Having the tiny roller on the far end of the pivot point might be enough to deflect the business end of the sear down and away from the hammer.

Not sure if that makes sense, but if the sear is touching the hammer then adjusting the lug probably won’t do all that much.

autococker04 it is not a roller sear. I have the plate and sear that Mozak offers. I will try to source a roller and see if that helps.

Could it be a mount screw issue being too long. Those Mozak frames are key mod. Is it possible the screws are too long or you reversed them. Long in the front short in the back.

I've run into that issue before. I'm using short CCM screws currently.

Have you found out the root of this issue?

Not yet. I've tried swapping the sear and the trigger plate and I'm still encountering the same issue. I'm probably going to send the frame to Mozak and see what he has to say.
