    007 Sear Slot?

I'm planning on cutting the sear slot out completely for easier removal of the internals. Any reason this shouldn't be done? I assume the threaded hole behind the slot is for a valve retention set screw (not needed?)?

    The hole is not needed.

No reason not to. It's just a 3rd retention screw. I've never had a problem from not having it.

Unless you're attempting a factory-level restoration, extending that slot is the second favorite modification that every NelSpot owner does. The first is removing the retaining loop that holds the 12-gram in the grip. The third is installing one of those gray plastic ball ramps in the feed tube. The forth is double-slotting the body and drilling/tapping the bolt to accept a second pump screw for a double arm pump. The list goes on and on.
