Jeepers single shot PGP build

It seems the PGP fever is making its way around again, so I might as well share what I'm doing with the rest of the class.

Inspired by a recent repost of the Freaky thread, Ive decided to take on the challenge, and add my own personal flair to it along the way.

So just like many others, I disassembled the PG, and clamped it down in a vice. I evenly heated each joint until I could see the solder running out, then heated a little more and popped the joints using a wooden dowel in each tube as to not scratch anything. While the tubes were still hot, I scraped as much solder off as I could. Less to file off later.

Then started to clean up the tubes with some wet 150 grit. I sanded and sanded, until finally the tubes started to fit together. So then, I cut down the old feed tube to spec and the insert fits perfectly.

More to come as I get around to it. Still waiting on one important puzzle piece before any major progress will happen.

Got the main slot cut today. It's not precise, but it will work, and it matches the original close enough.

Got my bolt in. It's a Speed Demon for a larger model Sheridan. I chose this because it will make this PGP centerfire, as in the air will push on the middle of the back of the paintball, instead of pushing upwards on the back of the ball, like what happens on a normal PGP. The centerfire will aid in getting fsr out in one piece, and will be more consistent for roundball.

Now I cut my breech to accommodate this bolt, it will push the paintball right into the bore insert (which is pretty close to the measurement from the Walz Freak how to) so I shouldn't need detents. Check back soon, I'm sure I'll have updates in no time.

Got my detent holes drilled on the internal breech section, everything is cut and ready for the hot stuff (I know I still have to clean up the bottom tube.)

With this tip, I have a total length of 10.5" for the whole top tube, but only about 7" of actual barrel.

Next update will either be good, or very bad. We will see what Velcor decides. With some helpful tips i got from WALZ, and probably a few others here, I'm confident I can stick these 2 tubes together. It's just a matter of how many attempts it's going to take. See yall soon.

Good from afar, far from good. It is stuck together, but it's a mess. I should have picked up smaller gauge solder, but I work with what I have. Some file work and this will look just fine after.

Time to cut the feed hole. I made sure it fell between the orings for a good seal. I got the rough hole cut out, just need to grind it down.

Ghost ring front sight added, rear drilled and tapped for stock sight

Started my barrel retention idea. 5/16 tubing on the side, with a pin inside the end on the tip to align the sights perfectly every time. Just needs a set screw drilled and tapped.
It's also a throwback to the old Colt Army revolver ejector rod.

Started grinding down excess solder and polishing.

Quick tip for anyone with a Sheridan with RVA, if you lost your ball bearing for the spring, a 6mm bb will fit perfectly.

Polished up. I left a little of that copper layer on the bottom tube, just to see how it's gonna patina. I'm pretty happy with this. It shoots very consistent, and it was doing good with a .682 insert with some leftover Graffiti. Then I tried out the First Strikes. This thing makes me giggle. I can't wait to build another. Stay tuned.
