After learning I possessed enough scrap tube and components to assemble a marker, I decided to make it happen. What resulted is a hybrid “kpgp” I now fondly refer to as the Scrapalope.
The barrel is composed of several small rings of scrap tube, held together by the outer sleeves. Transfer port is enlarged to 5/16”. The barrel body had to be modified to allow kp bolt use on pgp lowers. BB hole placement was retained, but transfer hole location and lug channel had to be modified. A new lug location was also drilled and tapped on the bolt. The bolt tip oring now seals on the end of an 8” xl freak insert, which ends flush with the business end of the barrel. A nylon tipped 8-32 set screw held in place by a soldered brass nut provides the insert retention.
I have a few details to add still, including a removable feedtube. It’s a lot of fun single shot, but I want a little capacity for running it as a side arm.
and a close up of the retainer
