PGP bolt questions

Hello all,

I just picked up a couple PGP’s from JeeperCreeper. A fancy custom one for myself and a stockish one for my brother. Mine has a 2k bolt so it stays shut when fired. My brothers has the stock bolt. I’ve played with springs and done the wedgit mod so its shooting 265 or so and it doesn’t roll out paint but we’ve noticed that unless you hold the pump handle forward, the bolt blows half way back every shot. We didn’t shoot it enough at 200fps without the wedgit to notice if it was doing that before or not. I tried stretching the spring between the ball bearings in the bolt and that definitely increased the force needed to open the bolt but it still blow’s open every shot. I’m assuming this is lowering the fps and efficiency.

my question is, is this normal? Is there a fix? Or does he run it this way until we find another 2k bolt?

Cooper T made a bolt that works like the 2k. The 2k bolt makes the pump stroke longer.

measure the fps with a chrono and see what it actually comes out at with the pump not held.

Personally I’d just hold the pump handle cuz you gotta pump for the next shot anyways.

Yeah thats normal for these ol PGPs. Thats why I like the 2k bolts.

Alot of people delete the detents in the bolt in favor of a smoother pump stroke. But yeah its better to hold the pump forward. You get used to it, or just find a better bolt.

If you get a 2k bolt, you probably need a quick strip slot, like I cut into your custom, to get the bolt in.
