    Pgp clear acrylic grips

So I'm sure most of you saw the clear grip LB I have up for sale. I thought the clear grips were cool but nothing crazy. They seem to be getting a lot of the attention on that post so I went looking and was surprised that nobody is making any.

So that got me thinking, what if I made them?

Do you think there is a market? Do enough people like clear grips to justify doing this? I'd probably be looking to cut from sheet but idk what would all be involved in rounding the edges and getting them back to clear.

If you could make them compatible with agd automag single frames, that would probably increase your market if you make a run of these

I made these years ago just out of a piece of clear scrap i found laying around where I used to work. It wasn't until I got back into playing two years ago that i finally rounded the edges. I made a plywood template and screwed the grip to it and ran it over a chamfer bit on my router table. I sanded them smoothish then blasted them with a torch to flame polish. I think they turned out decent enough for my first try and i wasnt going for perfect. With a little refinement i could see these looking better. Click image for larger version

Thank you! That was actually one of the big things I was wondering, how to get the cut edges back to clear. Can you explain this? Is it literally just hit out with a torch until it looks right or is there more to it?

Currently I don't have a router and I know that would make things much easier so I'm still on the fence about this

I had watched several videos on YouTube about flame polishing. I feel like i sanded down to something like 300 grit to get rid of the tool marks. I used a propane torch and just waved the flame over the edges until they went clear. I definitely should have done a practice piece because the plastic bubbled a bit when it got too hot.

A router sure makes it easy if you make a template. You can use a flush trim bit to cut them to the right size quickly and then change bits and chamfer them. You could probably dremel the edges with a sanding drum but not sure how hot that would get them.

I definitely am interested in a set especially since I just got my PGP back from getting the body and frame chromed
