Time for a face-lift.

I've had my single shot for a couple years now - I think it's actually the first brass project I did - and now that I've got a few builds under my belt it's time to address some issues with the original setup... Namely, the barrel is really crooked, the feedhole is offset (and not supposed to be 🙂), my "iron" sights aren't quite what I wanted, and the Krain frame I put on it broke this winter - I've epoxied it together for now. And my paint job is chipping badly.

So it's time to tear it down and redo it. Stay tuned!

I got a start on the rail last night, thinking I'd be doing yard work this morning, but it was raining when I got up so I figured I'd keep going after breakfast.

I'll be doing an optic sight at one end and a PGP sight at the other, much like my Hurricane, and there's still a bunch of cleanup to do, but this is where I'm at so far.

BrickHaus - the "March or Die"? Love that thing. Maybe Sergison will do another semi-auto Kframe for you? 😉

Jordan yeah the March or die stroker. I did ask serg about a semi frame for it but we have both let that trail get cold.

I love that stroker, but best I can get it shooting is 260 fps until it gets into cycling issues with the rva screw impeding hammer travel.

I kinda wanna make a pneu assist lever pirate out of that now, but life has me by the bootstraps for mod time.

BrickHaus - interesting you're having trouble with velocity, are you running CO2 or HPA?

Couple things I've done in the past - enlarging some of the air passageways in the valve coupler/LPR body can help flow, make sure the valve is facing the correct way (some of them can go two different ways, only one hole is actually ported out), and make sure the hammer can move freely. It's possible the springing needs tweaking as well if you're running HPA.

Also, making sure the bolt lines up with the transfer port is important. If the pump arm isn't adjusted correctly it can stop them from lining up.

One of the hurdles to jump over with the rework of my single shot is that my Kframe is meant for a PPS gun; on those, the valve position - and thus the mounting point for the front grip screw - is moved ahead of a P-series location by approximately 13/16". I could either move the valve core ahead and completely rework the lower tube like I've done on my PMI Pursuit build to accommodate that, or add a section to the back of the lower tube.

I decided to add a section. Way easier. 🙂

I have a scrap lower tube from a PGP that got a piece trimmed off at the appropriate length and cleaned up. You can it in the other picture - I soldered two patch pieces on to the sides to help secure it - but here it is during the test fit stage.

I'll also be using the PPS Typhoon hammer from my Pursuit, instead of a P-series hammer, to accommodate the change... I've installed a KP hammer in the Pursuit (more on that later), gives it a much nicer pump stroke.

Wrinkle paint is on, just waiting a few hours for it to dry before removing all the masking and then baking it to finish curing.

Assembled and catching some rays... I'll try again in less light, but you get the gist of it.

Still needs a Fastchanger - I'll have one next month-ish - but it's useable as is. I need to tweak the springing, it shoots way hot with a fresh rifle spring.

I love the new sight rail setup it looks great.
