    Chamber Plug Stuck

I'm working on rebuilding a component valve PGP. I've got all the parts of the valve out except for what I believe is called the chamber plug (the part that the CO2 cartridge seal goes into). It's really stuck in there. What's a good way to remove it?

Take two EMPTY 12 grams. put one in as your normally would and flip the other around. Tap the head of the 12 gram sticking out until you notice some movement (like 1/4"). That will knock it loose. Then take a wooden dowel like 1/4" or 3/8" and seat it in the chamber plug face and tap it out with a hammer.

Wd40, a wooden dowel, a mallet, and patience

I’ve had to remove a few this way over the years.

Thank you! Time to make a trip to the hardware store. The manual specifically says not to attempt to disassemble the gun, but to send it back to the factory for service lol.

I don't recommend the 12 grams, you can push your nutsert out. Get a 1/4 rod or dowel, and give it some taps with the hammer

            Update: It's still stuck.

Yesterday I picked up a 1/4 inch wooden dowel and a rubber mallet at the store. Tapping pretty hard on the front of the plug with the dowel did not dislodge it. Today I got some 3-In-1 Penetrating Oil and applied it to the front side of the plug. I let it soak in for about an hour but still there was no movement when I tried to knock it out with the dowel again. I just applied more oil, this time to the back side, and I'll see what happens in the morning.

Dan Bacci made it look so easy in his disassembly video!

100% sure the valve body o'ring came out when you pulled the valve out? I may have overlooked that once and struggled like you 🙄

Yep, I definitely got it out. It barely looked like an o-ring any more, it was so deformed.

The pros always make it look easy. I usually hand it to one of my teammates if I get one that hasn’t been knocked loose yet.

Lucky. I'm the only one on my team that has any brass. I have 4 Sheridans that I'm trying to get up an running so we can do some 2v2 games.

Yeah between Creeper and Arctic they know there way around a brass marker. I Often bum tools off Havoc or NONOBLITUS because I forget my toolbox in the car, or Forget it all together.

How long is your dowel? I have had great luck with a longer dowel, and using the floor as my hammer.

I slip the dowel down the front of the body until it bumps the plug. Then I'll hold the two together with one hand and drive the other end of the dowel down onto my cement floor. The inertia usually does better than a hammer swing.

The only thing with this, check your dowel before each swing. I could see it being easy to slip off and bend that collar

              Second Update: It's out!

I used theBrickHaus method, thank you! I held the ~9 inch long dowel in place and smacked the dowel end against a concrete floor. After hitting it probably a hundred times with a rubber mallet I was really surprised when the plug popped out after 5 or 6 strikes against the concrete.

I still have a PMI-1 to do after this PGP and now I'm feeling way more confident about it. Thank you everyone for the advice!

You should have used a better hammer. Rubber mallets aren't great for imparting force into a punch, or dowel in this case.

Yeah, I ended up using the ground as my hammer. An actual hammer would have probably done the same job with more control. Next time.

Wanna make it so you wont have to change that face seal out anytime soon? Replace the usual faceseal with a Phantom cupseal, I've been doing this to my Sheridan's for years and have had 0 issues
