    Anyone got an ID?

After years of trolling Craigslist I finally found something neat and managed to get first in line to snag it. Hopefully I'll have it in my possession relatively soon. In the meantime what am I buying??

It looks like a home modified PGP. Its hard to see, but it looks like a General Joes centerfire bolt in it.

Oh that definitely looks like a center fire bolt. You can just see the spot for the lug sled.

Thanks for the info! Still waiting for a reply to organize the pick-up/shipping but I confirmed in buying it this AM. I've been wanting a single shot and a center-fire bolt and the strange air rig are icing on the cake!

Its a nice snag. I know you've been looking for one of those bolts as long as I have. It should fit the Freak PGP no problem, since it was designed for that bolt.

Looks like it had an open class conversion

I contacted the guy a couple hours after he posted it and requested better pictures

Well he shipped it on over from Norwood, MA today, along with the CO2 attachment and some kind of open class adapter that's no longer connected. Ill be sure to update the thread when it arrives.

It showed up today, but naturally I've got a bunch of post work tasks to deal with.

It's pretty interesting, and definitely was well loved and heavily modified by the previous owner. The bolt it definitely a center-fire, the frame has some extra holes that I assume went to a stock, it has a tank adapter, a sight rail and some kind of collar the at back near the bolt that I'm real curious about.

Sometime this week (hopefully tonight) I'll tear it down and report back. It looks like some kind of red machine grease was spread throughout the barrel and on the bolt to prevent rust? But it cocks and dry fires so I'm calling it a win!

XEMON the overall stroke is 1.45 inches where the sear catches the hammer.

XEMON I'd say about a half inch or so.

I had about a half hour or so to take it apart and check out what's going on inside, the bolt itself is pretty neat, and the previous owner had smeared machine grease along the inside so the brass is in great shape and there's very little cleaning to do.

The valve pin was trashed, and the cup seal and o rings turned into some kind of mushy powder but if I've got time after work tomorrow I'm gonna see if it airs up.

I'm pretty excited with this snag so far!

Just did a test fire and it works! I'm going to need to make a slightly longer pump arm, the current one is functional but gets just a bit tight with how much the slot in the pump handle goes into the trigger frame. Somehow work was more chaotic today, but I'm really hoping to get out this Saturday to either Xtreme or warzone to give it a whirl.

I did a little mockup after my first attempt to strip the paint off the body. It's definitely lathered on there, and the strange collar around the backend of the chamber tube doesn't seem to want to budge, neither does the sight rail.

Initially I wanted to make my second pgp into something really piratey to match my salty soul, but part of me is liking the idea of a bluefork trigger, cci frame and some kind of sight like the one armson makes

Looks like there's a setscrew in that collar...did you back it out, if there is one?

I did indeed, it's pretty well seized on there, seems like some moisture got in between the collar and the body. While my experience with metals is all in a marine environment, I've always been taught that mixed metals+moisture=bad times, I'm guessing this collar is aluminum as it failed the magnet test and certainly isn't brass.

ID:	597547 After a whole lot of brasso and paint stripper I was able to leverage the collar off using the backed out set screw and an Allen key for leverage. There was definitely some corrosion under there, but some 1500 grit sand paper took care of that.

It leaks (as expected) and the bolt I swapped into it doesn't seem to be catching consistently. I've got feeling it's in part due to the angle the pressure comes from when cocking it, so I'll probably tap the back of the bolt and attach the brass knob there.

It still needs a bit of TLC but I'm liking the direction it's going in. I'm debating setting up some kind of feed for it using brass tube and some scope rings on the sight rail.

I think I already tossed the pieces, the poor thing was like a damn puzzle and I can't use hoppers anyways. I'll look around after I get back from playing today though!

I was just wondering, if it was possible, to mount/attach a MAK adapter.

I got an o-ring kit and new valve pin in on Saturday, managed to sneak in some time to drill/tap the bolt and fix the leak. Finally got this thing in working order.

I'd love to do some kind of patina splash effect, so I'm going to do a bit of research into that, I'm also on the prowl for a bluefork designs frame, and want to make use of the CA adapter it came with. It's coming along step by step though!

After being sick as a dog for a few days I felt better this morning and decided to get some work done. I got out the propane torch and hammer and smacked that sight rail off and whacked some wedgits into the body.

I keep going back and forth with ideas for this build, and have decided to kind of go with the flow on it. I'm currently loving the idea of making it a single shot run off 12 grams to a convertible stick feed. I think I could accomplish this with a cocker frame or on one blueforks assemblies with a CCI frame on it. This way I could slap and asa on it and run the CA adapter.

Like I said, I'm just gonna go with the flow on this. If I can snag either of the frame setups I'll look into the stick feed set up, otherwise it'll just stay a single shot.

Regardless I placed an order for some supplies to do a forced patina. I've got some test pieces I'll test that out on some time in the next week or two, for now I'm going to continue cleaning and polishing this puppy. The trigger frames getting stripped as I write this.

Wells the body is definitely polished enough the paint under the tail was a hell of a lot less stubborn than the paint slopped onto the body. I think the body looks real nice with the sight rail removed and is begging for some iron sights. Which is another good excuse to learn how to braze brass.

The paint on the trigger frame is being as stubborn as the paint on the body, but I don't plan to use it permanently so I'll probably just sand the rest off and be happy with whatever spray paint+clear coat I throw on it.
