2001 Modded Sheridan PGP with Custom Feed Caps

Hello there. Thanks to the wonderful work of JeeperCreeper, this PGP I picked up at slims is up and running. Its got a few mods with the most significant being the 2 detents that prevent double feeding and rollout. I've been playing around with custom 3D printed feed caps as it didn't come with any when I got it. I've used various materials and I ended up with a brass tiger, a wood snake, a PETG tiger, and a PETG lion. I haven't done much post processing with them but the wood one will be pretty easy, it's the brass one I'm worried about. I printed it with brass PLA filament so it's brass powder mixed in with plastic and supposedly if I sand/polish the living hell out of it, it'll shine. I tried with a dremel at work with a buffer tip but it was coated in black oil/metal so it rubbed off on it which I imagine can be sanded off but there's a lot of fine details I don't want to mess up. Perhaps one of the brass wizards may offer some wisdom. Anyways, it shoots great, got 265 for the first shot then 200 for the 11th shot. I'll do the velocity adjustment later but that's perfectly fine for this type of marker.

since theres plastic in the mix, its gunna be difficult to machine polish this in any way that i can think of. plus all those tiny details. very time consuming, but i think your only option is hand polishing. Theres a ton of sanding sponges and other tools used for miniature modeling that would work well, take a trip to your local hobby shop and check out what theyve got.

maybe look into a diy brass casting process, lost mold wax casting would work well with these imho. you use a wax filament and it melts out of the mold when you cure it, then pour your metal of choice in.

Stockclass Heroes had great success printing in ABS (I believe) and then doing acetone vapor treating and it gets rid of the print lines and makes things shiny.
