    PGP bolts, looking for photos

Trying to look for a comparison of PGP bolts. I think what I'm looking for is a "breach lock" bolt? The one I currently have has the two ball bearings that lock into the holes in the side of the breach but there's just a spring that is constantly pushing them out. Makes the pump stroke very stiff. I've had one in the past that actually pulled the ball bearings into the bolt so it could move a lot easier. Trying to figure out what those are called and just looking for a general comparison of options

I believe we used to call those bolts that you were talking about speed demon bolts. Cooper t also made pgp and PMI bolts that did the same thing so you can also look up those. The PGP 2K guns also came with a speed demon style bolt that pulled the locking bbs in when pumped from the factory.
PBSports.com is selling the Cooper-T Bolt for PMI1 and PMI2 markers. Get one before they are gone forever!

Yep, what you're describing is a "Speed Demon" bolt, I have one in my PGP. During the pump-stroke the bolt expands, which sucks the ball bearings in and makes the pump stroke smoother while still letting the bolt lock when the gun is fired. Bear in mind that as far as I know PMI never actually made a Speed Demon bolt for the PGP, but you can have one for a P-68SC trimmed down to fit. That's what I did back in the day.

        Here's the bolt I have;

Here's what it looks like fully cocked back:

And here's where you can see how the shop trimmed the original bolt to length so it'd fit in my gun.

ETA: Reeeally not sure what happened with the pics here.

What’s the difference between the general joes bolt. Is it just center fire?

I just got a PGP for Walzmas that’s got one,

General joes has a sliding bolt lug. Gets you a drop in centerfire bolt without needing to cut a new feedhole

Looking at a few on bacci, he doesn't have any complete so if I snag one of these

          And this

Is there anything else I need? I can use the ball bearings I have here and will probably be polishing them up anyway so I don't mind the rust

Just the roll pin that lock them together.

But here is a thought. Cant you just pop the bearings out of your current bolt completely?

You dont need the bearings. Especially with bolt o rings. And especially if you hold onto your pump handle to shoot.

Poking around, I found one pgp bolt where the someone poked one of the Teo bearings out of the bolt. The right side bearing is in there still.

The other bolt is from a super crusty rental my friend sold me. Probably an early pgp or pg convert, but has no bearings nor no body holes for said bearings.

I suppose I could just take them out.

What's the general consensus on having them or not?

The PGP2k bolt also have a similar design as the "speed demon" one. I'm not sure I ever saw a "Speed demon" bolt for PGP, they where always the longer PMI spec (PMI 1, P68SC ans other). But you could put the PMI bolt on a lathe to make it PGP spec. Cooper T seem to have made a few PGP bolt but they are quite rare.

Your best option would be to find a PGP2k bolt.

PGP 2k had all the improvement you could want on a standard PGP (upgraded bolt, fast change 12g thread, RVA, cartridge valve and quick feed).

I got a speed demon in my PGP but the breach was moved forward to use it.(Creeper Customs Built)

It’s a longer bolt. The body holes for the locking ball detents are hidden inside the body for a clean look.

I put a kp bolt into my scrap pgp build. But there were definitely some shenanigans involved. Note the longer top tube

I'm not going to be using this myself. It's going to go up for sale here and I know I don't do limited paint play. I've tried it, it drives me nuts.

So I'm curious what you guys like? Ball bearings, no ball bearings or speed demon bolt

Personally I love the Speed Demon. I remember when I had it installed in my PGP it was a game-changer. The bearings almost don't matter during the pump stroke, but the bolt does not move a smidge during one-hand fire. Which is nice if you want to shoot the PGP one-handed, and let's face it, the thing is a pistol. You want to shoot it one-handed unless you're rapid-firing. Which reminds me, getting a good rapid-fire rhythm going is pretty easy to do with a Speed Demon installed.

Speed demon are my personal favorite it’s a smoother lighter stroke and they are center fire bolts. But most are not drop in on a PGP. You could cut one down to PGP spec I suppose.

I guess it really depends on what you plan on doing with the PGP. If you’re leaving it stock with the pump handle I would pop the BB out and save them. You can always put them back in if you don’t like it.

if your building a custom freak bore setup I say do the extra hot work for the Cooper T or Speed Demon. Especially if you go single shot locking bolt is a nice feature when you’re not using a handle.
