Anyone know offhand whether the gen2 back cap and bolt assembly will fit in the gen1 body? The gen1s used the back cap/bolt sleeve from the eXTCy. I have somehow really buggered the threads on the back cap of my gen1. Just wondering what my replacement options are.

I have both a gen 1 and gen 2 eNMEy. I'll check after work.
Did you bugger just the cap threads? Or the body threads, too? I think I have a spare body laying around if you need it. Just the aluminum round body.

Thanks for checking. I'll be curious to know whether the bolt assemblies are compatible. Even though my gun appears to be repairable now, I'd be interested in potentially upgrading the bolt assembly in the future. I suspect that GoG probably changed the diameter, though.
The damage does not appear to be quite as bad as I thought. I found an old PBNation thread which explained that on the gen1s the rear grip frame screw, if overtightened, can protrude into the back cap (aka bolt sleeve) threads. It looks like this is exactly what I did. It ground down the cap threads a bit. After backing that screw out I was able to (slowly and carefully) screw the back cap all the way back in, which seems to have cleaned up the threads a bit. To prevent future overtightening, I have thrown an old spare #005 rubber o-ring on that screw to act as a washer.

They are definitely not the same thread. I could turn the V2 about one half of a thread on the V1 body before it started binding. Sorry man.
On top of it, the V1 seems much more Ion influenced, whereas the V2 seems to be much more (modern) Shocker influenced. The V1 bolt almost looks identical to the Ion bolt. The V2 is longer, thinner, definitely provides better air flow, but I don't think the assembly would be at all compatible with a V1.

Thanks for taking the time to do a comparison. I wish it had occurred to me to check when I had examples of both generations in my possession.
The first gen bolt is taken from the eXTCy (and eNVy, which shares the eXTCy bolt). Both of those markers are essentially updated, post-Smart Parts renamed Ions. The 1st gen eNMEy bolt part number is even XTC309.

The eXTCy must be very similar then, albeit updated. The bolt looks almost identical to a stock Ion bolt, just with the second tail o-ring. The V2 bolt looks like an elongated NDZ ion copy. It definitely wouldn't work in an Ion, but you can definitely tell where they got their "inspiration" from. Lol. I didn't know that about the serial numbers. I never paid any attention to it. Pretty cool.
If there's anything else you want to know about either marker, hit me up. I plan on keeping both of these for a long time. I really like them.
