Shocker Sport body insert removal

Long story short I need to remove the sleeve which mates with the firing piston. It mates pretty much flush everywhere and I don't really know how to get it out.

I've got a friends shoebox which is leaking back out the firing solenoid exhaust. With the solenoid off and the primary feed plugged there is quite a lot of air leaking out of the port that goes to the firing piston. Since it doesn't leak out of the barrel at all I believe the body insert/sleeve which mates with the firing piston is either scratched inside or the 011 oring between is and the body has crack.

Brass sleeve in the middle of the gun? Drives out the front - barrel end.

Did you get the fire piston housing out but the fire piston is still stuck? The housing usually has enough to grip once you screw it out, big flat head or 3/16 depending on year. I've have the front of the housing snap off where those round holes are and that can be a pain.

A large dowel with tapping might do it for the sleeve. The aluminum they made the body from is soft as it gets.

Yes that insert in the middle of the body that the firing piston seats with. In this gun however it is not brass but aluminum. First one I've seen like that. Damn thing is flush at the face and on the inside with the body and I can't get on it at all to extract it. Its like you need a tool that expands to grab it or maybe drill out the body a little so you can get on the insert with a punch.

Not quite. The firing piston is out but the piece inside the body that it seals to is the issue. It is somehow leaking either through the oring that holds that insert in the body or through the interface with the firing piston.

IIRC, I found a socket that fit and drove it out using an extension from the back of the gun. Wasn't very difficult, just nerve wracking.

I ended up buying a pilot bearing puller to try. Can't use any object to push from the rear of the marker as the body obscures the insert 100%. Requires a tool which expands.
