eBay Ion detents in an eNMEy?

I have two Enemy markers, one was my workhorse and one for tinkering, but I’ve never played with it. Well with the body of the main one finally cracking in 3 places where I had done a threaded feedneck, I want to make the second one functional.

the detents had degraded and when I tried to remove them they just broke apart. My main one has killa detents I think that are solid and spring loaded. I couldn’t find any more to buy so I got some from eBay. They are labeled as being for an Ion and I can’t remember if my Killa ones are Enemy specific or for the whole Ion family.

The Killa ones fit perfect from what I remember, but these stuck out a little and the metal body doesn’t fit into the cover unless things are flush. I might be able to file the body of the detents down so they sit in the metal body more, but can’t take much if anything off the outer side or the spring won’t stay securely in place.

anyone ever used these to have comments about them fitting?

I am not familiar with those particular detents, but they should be cross compatible. Those Shocktech bodies are just a really tight fit. I have one with the window cutouts, and I had polished a chamber like yours, then vinyl wrapped it, and it just barely squeezed in there. See if they fit under the stock body if you have it

I think you are right. I have the body that these parts came in. While the threaded neck prevents it from going in the body enough to cover the detents, they can get close enough to see that they would fit. Might fit perfectly in fact. I knew the Shocktech bodies were tight because I had to sand this one down, but man, compared to the factory plastic body these are way too tight. I wonder what the reason for that is.

I still really like the ST body though as the other factory body is bound to break just like it did on my original Enemy. Might be a short term solution. Longer term I might design something and 3D print a detent that fits.

Decided to be brave and either fix things or break them. The springs on these detents don’t have much of a lip to grab from the detent body, but after inspecting my Enemy with Kila detents they have a little plastic circle sticker making sure things don’t fall out. I figure that if nothing else, I could use something like that to keep everything inside the body so it can slide into the shell. So I got some 220 and started sanding. The springs are in place still and the body fits into the kit now. The bolt opens the detents without issue so I can move forward with this build. Some day I’ll have to do something about the raw body tube, but I’m worried the shell would scratch anything not hard anodized.
