I'm curious how those few proud masochists who've held on to their cinder blocks have managed to overcome Smart Parts' brilliant battery design.
I've heard references of people just hacking off the proprietary battery terminals and crimping in a standard 9v adapter. I've also been told that doing this will occasionally fry the board. I've also heard of adapters designed to bring the voltage down to a level closer to stock (apparently ASP once made them), but I can't find instructions for building one.
Anyone here tried out either method?
