    Shoebox Shocker Electricity

I'm curious how those few proud masochists who've held on to their cinder blocks have managed to overcome Smart Parts' brilliant battery design.

I've heard references of people just hacking off the proprietary battery terminals and crimping in a standard 9v adapter. I've also been told that doing this will occasionally fry the board. I've also heard of adapters designed to bring the voltage down to a level closer to stock (apparently ASP once made them), but I can't find instructions for building one.

Anyone here tried out either method?

I had one for a hot minute and I just hacked off the battery and put on a 9 volt harness work just fine but I sold it soon after so I can't tell you any long-term results about the board

I did hundreds of 9V conversions, and don't recall anyone complaining about "fried boards" or any other issues.

The factory pack was something like 7.2V, and even though I'm no electronics whiz, I have a hard time seeing an additional 1.8V doing any damage.

Bluetooth Board for Shoebox Shocker !This version is configured to use the Dome-Switch pushbutton type of trigger. Please check your original board to see what type of trigger is needed for your marker. The current version of this board will have the front On/Off switch, using the front hole in the gripgrame tray. This should be more universal, as not all Shockers have the slide switch. Pics of new version coming soon. Includes 1 battery connector cable.

another potential option to keeping classic shockers on the field.

I wasn't aware those were available. I'm not looking to spend more on a board then I did on the gun, but it's cool that you can still get parts for guns that old.
