    Tipx setup

Hello all, Just getting back into the sport after a multi-year hiatus. Picked up a TiPX for weekend battling, and was wondering whether there are any necessary or highly recommended modifications. I seem to remember hearing that trimming the detent helped reduce ball breakage: is that true?
On a related note, are the TechT bolt or MCS lock-bolt worth the investment? I also remember there being a guy who would bore out any barrel for freak inserts (which I have a pile of.) Is that still a thing?

    Thanks!

Edit: after using it this morning, the gun is a bit of a chop-o-matic. It shoots pretty straight when the paint isn't breaking. Im fairly sure it wasn't the paintballs because the 98's were shooting the same HK paint just fine. I've heard trimming the detents can help relieve this. Is that true?

As for recommendations, Another marker? Im not saying get rid of the TIPX but I wouldn't sink a ton of money into a tipx either. In essence people end up trying to turn them into good mag feed markers and the easiest way to do that is to just buy something that was built to be a good marker in the first place. Use it as a pistol, a fun weekend shooter but don't go trying to make it do everything. You'll end up spending $400+ once your are all in and for that kind of money you can get a emf100 which is a way better mag feed marker out of the box.

For freak boring, there's lots of guys here that can do that.

You're right, and I'm not planning on buying the chassis system or anything horribly expensive. I mostly want it as something I can pull out when there's mostly rental players at the field and my more competitive markers are clearly overkill. Assuming it will feed without breaking paint, I guess there's not too much more that I need. I periodically get the itch to mod my stuff to death, even though it's usually fine as-is.

Zeta mags are nice options. 10 rounds each side of the mag, flip it over to use the next 10 rounds. You can get a Techt iFit barrel for this that allow inserts as well. Might be cheaper the freak boring. Remote line adaptor is a good upgrade as well.

The best thing you can do to the tipx is mill the breach for FSR (don't buy one of the fsr kit, the milled stock breach sucks)
Then mod the he 7rd mags for FSR ...

A nicer barrel is great, I loved the lionclow ones ...
Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

Do you use the mock suppressor with the Lion Claw? If so, could a 12-gram clear the bottom of the can? My intention is to use 12-ies almost exclusively, so that's the one thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on that barrel.

I had a muzzle break that would block the 12g, and when I wanted the 12g, I took it off and put a small thred protector the barrel front.
If you don't like it sticking out you could just trimm the barrel flush with the front of the gun ...
        Working...
