    Stormer Trigger mods

Long story short, I made what I felt to be a lowball offer on a magfed stormer I saw on ebay, and now I own one.
First impressions are better than I had expected, but NGL the single finger trigger sucks pretty hard. Is there a way to improve the trigger feel, OR convert the trigger to a 2-finger trigger? If there's a tippmann 2-finger trigger that can drop in with only mild modding, I don't mind chopping the trigger guard to allow it to fit. I guess I'm asking what level of cross-compatibility is there between the stormer and other tippmann models?

It's based around the chronos so not much. I would take the shells apart and compare what you see to a 98c. If you are lucky you might be able to get a 98c trigger to work but Im fairly sure there are no aftermarket kits as the trigger guard is integrated

You might be able to find an aftermarket single trigger which could tighten up any trigger play as long as it's made right and considering it's mag feed that might be the way to go. It's not like walking the trigger is super useful when you need to reload every 20 shots

      ^^^ Solid advice.

Tippmanns are those paintguns that get more from DIY mods than they do with most aftermarket parts. If you pull the trigger, sear & hammer & give them a good polishing, and possibly lighter springs, your pull will be much improved.

There's apparently a TechT spring & pin kit that I may try out. Polishing fire control surfaces may help as well.

      Easy Tippmann trigger job.

      1. Replace the trigger spring with a clicky pen spring.
      2. Replace the sear spring with the original trigger spring.
      3. ???
      4. Profit.

I'm pretty sure number three is to just replace the marker

No offense to what you purchased but my opinion has always been that if you want more performance in a situation along these lines it's better to replace the tippmann. They are not known for their fantastic build quality by any means and doing things like upgrades can easily become a black hole you just throw money into with minimal gains

Oh sure, I'm not planning to spend insane amounts of money. I got the gun for a pretty good deal just for kicks to see if I actually want to dive deeper into magfed. Having shot it in my garage, the only complaint so far is that the trigger low key sucks; but that may be much less noticeable when someone shoots back lol.

Trbo323 While you are correct, there’s merit to using it as an intro to magfed play, especially if he got a good deal on it. And you can learn the DIY stuff that Tippmanns much benefit from. Use it, learn some stuff, sell it for the same price (or higher if bought below market value) and you’re likely going to get something out of the experience.

nighthunter I could try printing this for you. I'm pretty confident the Stormer has the same trigger setup as the Cronus. I just don't have one to test it in, so no promises.

Might I add something here. I think sometimes people evaluate markers on an unrealistic scale. Tippmanns are the tractor of paintball. Nothing about them screams Lamborghini. With some exceptions, they are near indestructible. As mentioned in the above comments, they are a great starting point. The $100 or so investment in the Stormer gets you into the basics of magfed cheap. It's a different style of play than speed ball, hopper fed semi or even pump. There is nothing more frustrating than spending $300 or more on the gun itself, mags excluded, to find that the style of play is not for you. So, I think that DIY mods or low-cost parts changes are fine, but don't overdue it. That tractor will never be a Formula One.

I'll contest this. Typically I work on a crap ton of spyders and tippmanns, the largest difference in reliability is the owner. I would not come anywhere close to classifying them as "indestructible"

If you want a reliable design, tippmann and spyder have nothing on a classic automag
