Anyone know offhand if the I and II seals and springs are compatible? I have a II that I’ve had forever and never really had a problem with. Probably will stay in my collection forever as its just freaking bullet proof. I recently got a sl68-I and a NOS parts kit for it. Was wondering if the parts kit would be worth keeping for the II if I ever broke a spring or something. I’m sure the orings are probably mostly worthless in it, since I would think this parts kit dates back to the 90s.
Sl-68 and SL68-II internals compatibility?

Well in answer to my own question and for posterity. The springs are different diameters and lengths. -
I am surprised the springs are different. Are you sure someone hasn't already made a change in the gun? Tippmann was very good about re-using the same parts across their line of guns. The valve orings in the sl68 and sl68II are reused in the valves of all their guns at least up to the tpx. The trigger spring on the sl68 is reused as the sear spring in the carbine and early 98.Comment

Not sure, no way to know, but the sl had a shorter and wider main spring. And the valve spring from the sl I think was also wider than the II valve spring iirc.Comment

Hmm, now I’m gonna have to tear down both before I sell off the SL and take pics to prove I’m not going crazy.Comment

It looks like for internals, not much is different. Hammers are the same size, within .005, bolts too. Only major difference i see is the spring sizes, the mk.1 is about 3/8 longer. The cast frames are very similar, with the biggest changes being the feedneck and grip. It looks to me that the grip is slightly longer to allow for the air inlet to be lower, almost entirely out of the way for the grip.Comment
