I've only seen two come up for sale in the last few years. One was on a blue splash Mini-Lite that the eBay seller claimed was Ben Tippmann's old personal gun, no idea if it was true but he seemed legit. I don't think he ended up selling it. The other was in a completely NIB Pro-Am lot with a giant pile of accessories that sold for a hell of a lot more then I was willing to pay for a tippmann.
Definitely worth keeping an eye out for them though since they do occasionally surface.

Don't know if you noticed Drunkscriblerian but there is a Pro-Line powerfeed/vasa for sale on the board. https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forum/b...and-misc-parts

The messing-around continues.
The biggest problem I had with my Pro-Lite on the field was that it was too freaking long; between the basic design and that 18 1/2 inch SP barrel, it was like shouldering a Kentucky rifle. I sourced a shorter Tippmann threaded barrel, a nice 8 inch Lapco Bigshot. But that wouldn't thread thanks to interference from the fore-end. So I did the only sensible thing; I took a hacksaw to the fore-end.
At that point the barrel screwed in fine but the front end obviously looked janky as hell. So my dad and I cut and milled a piece of oak, worked it into the front of the fore-end and screwed it in place. The result was pretty redneck, but the balance was vastly improved when I put a tank on it. Oh, and it's loud as all hell now. Still, I'm happy with it.

I tried paintball for the first time a few weeks ago (as a 30 year old dad, lol) and can't get it out of my head. I've been obsessively searching around for gear and his thread single-handedly convinced me to get one of these. A day later, wouldn't you know, a pro-carbine popped up for sale near me for $10 and I bought it immediately.
Tore it down and everything looks great internally. It came with a 9oz CO2 tank but I can't find a single place near me to fill it to test if the gun actually works -- all the welding and dive shops in my area say no. As soon as I scrape together enough cash for an HPA tank I'll plug it in and report back

Took it to the local field and the guy let me use an HPA tank to try it out.
It was leaking air due to loose hose connections, then started rapid-firing itself. Looks like the CA-09e o-ring blew. Dug through a bin of rings and found one that fit into the valve. It shot a few times then did this again lol
I'm going to get a full o-ring kit and rebuild it. Any recommendations?

Just another vote for the Pro-Carbine being the best gun Tippmann ever made. Here is mine. Also, if anyone needs the weird metric seal for the brass gasline adapter on either a 68 Carbine or pro-carbine, just let me know. Minimum order size was like 100 and I only needed like 5 or 6....
Just pm me your shipping information and let me know how many you want. Absolutely 100% free I am never going to need this many of them.

Just signed in tonight and wouldn't you know it, this thread is still getting love. I guess Tippmann still has a place in paintball's heart. It makes me happy to see.
And yes, I do still take my Pro-Lite to the field and it does still see trigger time...but these days the valve is starting to stick (I think - its straight-up failing to cycle occasionally, I'm pretty sure that's the valve complaining). Once I finish tearing the carpet out of my living room I'll do some posts here about "messing with" tearing the valve apart. Since I've never done that before I'm sure it will be interesting.

So if there is one thing I'm good at, it's remembering "Ye olde mods".
1: You can for sure polish the outside of the valve body in pro-lites. The entire valve body moves each shot, so you want to be sure it does so smoothly.
2: The stock gas lines hold these back. Hacksaw, Drill, the right size bit, a 1/8" NPT tap, and the right length steel braid gas line really open these up a lot.
3: you can go full BretG on the cup seals. Soak them overnight in oil, then flute them with a chainsaw file. Added a fuck ton of volume to the valve chamber.
After I did all of the above my prolite was cycling perfectly on a 900 PSI HPA tank....and by perfectly, I meant I had to install an RVA and dail back the main spring tension to get it to stop shooting 350 FPS on HPA.

I'm also thrilled to see how beloved these old Tippmanns still are. I now have two Pro Carbines, one of which I just took to the local field and shop today to see if it needed a rebuild. It aired right up, and shoots great. Got a new heavier hammer spring set coming on Monday, gonna try that before I make any permanent mods. These things are so cool, and so much fun to work on and use.
