    Tipx 'Automag'

Firstly, I'll apologize if this idea has already been thrown around a bunch; I don't frequent MCB often, and I highly doubt I'm the only one to suggest this...

I've never owned a Mag, and while I've always wanted one, I'm cheap and don't feel like dropping real money on one... I've also been wanting for ages to make my own unique marker.

I met a group of MCB'ers at a scenario about a year and a half ago, who had custom built 'automag' style Ions with macro lines that ran from the ASA to the body of the Ion.

This got me thinking about the Tipx, and how it has some similarity to the Automag... And how it would be very easy to attach a macro fitting to the remote line adapter, and have a macro line running to a foregrip regulator, or ASA.

Has anyone made a Pneumag-style marker with a custom body and Tipx internals? Is there any reason why this idea hasn't been done a bunch, other than the fact that you'd have to design and mill out a speedball style marker body that could accept Tipx internals?

Also, as I typed this all out, I remembered that the Crossover exists, and that's basically what I'm describing... Oh well, my question still stands.

Has anybody done it no not that I'm aware of anyway. I suspect one of the large reasons is that automag internals are usually considered better and there are already lots of aftermarket bodies out there for AutoMags. You also lose the ability to use an RT or ule on off and frankly the way that the tipx is put together kind of sucks because it relies on the exact fitment of the body clam shells

I owned a crossover for a minute. I already had an auto mag at the time so my idea was that it was going to be like a poor man's e mag. That turned out to be wishful thinking as it was kind of terrible. The trigger always felt like I was kind of guessing where it was going to shoot and it doesn't matter if it was running in mechanical or e mode. Programming the board was an absolute nightmare seriously to this day it's the worst board I've ever had to deal with.

I really wanted to run my own regulator on it with a standard ASA setup but tippmann long ago stopped producing the plates that seal the bottom of the grip frame and without that you can't do it

All together it was an extremely disappointing adventure I originally thought I might want to keep the thing but I literally only played one game with it do right away that I would never like it so I sold it soon after

If you like an automag stick with an automag Tom built them right

I have a TiPX with the TCR valve body and I still have trouble shooting 280 fps consistently with my TiPX. I heard the reason is the marker is designed to run CO2 and can run HPA... kinda. Point is, the TiPX internals are neat, they just might not give you the kind of performance you are looking for in terms of rate of fire.

Ah, neat! I knew somebody had to have tried this before. I like it, but I was imagining a custom body, either milled aluminum or 3D printed plastic, and running elbow fittings and a macroline from the reg to the remote line adapter, maybe even use a regulator ASA from a Mini and run the line from the ASA. Also, a double trigger.

Still, this is pretty cool. Definitely going to have to get my hands on another Tipx and make my own variation of this.

I take automag valves and put them into different guns mostly metal replica guns I gut out insides and put automag valves inside or I just took guts of a fn303 which is is based on automag valve with a drum and I put inside of a Tommy gun replica I call it a TommyKaye gun after automag inventor.
I'm working on a M3 grease gun now I've made lots of different magfed automags too though some that use tipx magazine. Automag valve is perfect size to fit in most guns. I use high end replica guns made in Spain by company named denix most are between 150 and 250 bucks so not cheap but very very realistic all scale size. They sold not ment to fire just cock and dry fires bolt I remove that shit and put as much of automag mag inside as I can. It takes alot of grinding sometimes but not to hard if have the tools. I started making just magfed automags then started making real magazine work as paintball mags and that's what brought name to doing replicas. The first and second photos of magfed automag is experimental less lethal I build with a heated dump expansion that heats co2 up increasing psi out put to as much as 2000psi making shoot .6875 steel ball bearings very hard over100 joules
