I'm alright at 280 although I wouldn't mind a 300 bump if the whole group was okay with it. I only play pump but I also like having a bit more aggressive play style and end up at close engagement distances.

If someone wanted to designate themselves as a team sniper or something and agree to an engagement distance then I'd be cool with even a bit higher. Or people with first strike rounds

Oh hell no. In my opinion first strike rounds should have a minimum engagement distance even at 280. The damage I've seen FS rounds do at close range chronoed at 270 is bad enough.

Fs rounds will not be allowed over 250 fps for a long time as far as I can tell. Thats what most insurance companies hold em to.

Interesting. If BOLP ever reopens I'll have to take a look into that. Only field around here that allowed them. Pre covid of course.

Really they shoot them at 280-300 at all the NY fields I have played.

I'm not at a disadvantage playing pump.

I do not not want new players on the field thinking I'm getting an edge because of my special gear. Nor do I want them to think getting shot by me will hurt more. That's what the 10 year old Newbie is thinking.

280 is fine. I have 20+ years shooting 280 and that IS my advantage.

I'm already riding a unicycle, no need for training wheels.

Nope. I choose to shoot pump for the fun and forced paint savings. Don’t need it for any other reason.

If I having a crappy day or just don’t want the added challenge I can run a semi. No laws limiting me to my pumps so no reason others should suffer to “help” me.

Years ago i wanted more range and jumped on the flatline band wagon when it came out. It was a fun thing to be able to reach just that much further than others. But it RARELY resulted in any actual added eliminations and often cause more headaches with barrel breaks than any advantage. I’d guess at least with some markers increasing velocity would likely increase barrel breaks as well negating any so called advantage.

I have also tried FSR. And I like them and love the added aspect they offer to big games. But to me the added gear needed and cost where just not for me.

I still set my velocity at ~275 fps. Every pump I have behaves the best right around there for precision and accuracy so I don't F**k with it. I have no issues with 300fps just feel it really is all placebo affect for the player thinking they have an advantage. You might be able to reach a little further but at the expense of precision and accuracy so essentially a wash.

I only play pump, have only ever played pump. I think the idea makes no sense. Pump players aren’t crippled and they don’t need any help.

I don’t think Pump players need an advantage and 20fps makes no difference to me. Most of my markers shoot better at 280 then 300. Even if a field that allows for 300 I leave my markers at 280. Especially my Stock Class markers I would rather have the extra few shots.

Nope. Handicapping yourself by choice is fine, but being given a handicap as a prize for doing so would be silly.

My T2 lives at 260-270 and it's perfectly happy there, seems to shoot straight and reliably every shot. It seems if i ever try to bump the pressure the balls will start to wobble and hook. I'm good where I'm at lol.

                  To the OP: No.

I play very aggressively, I don't want to have to hold back just to switch to a pistol close up. That's a ton of extra junk I don't want to carry. (Pistol, mags/tubes/some sort of air source/some sort of holster for all listed above). I play pump because it puts me at a severe disadvantage compared to my peers, I find it challenging and incredibly rewarding, and I don't wanna become drunk on power (which happens with my EMEK).

If my field did what you've suggested I'd ask them to identify (zip tie) my marker so I wouldn't have to chrono higher and ply by the different rules.
