I too am on the too much crap front. Generally I hauled for both myself and my sister so I was loaded up with a large tool tote with A minimum of six markers. 5 HPA tanks one Co2 tank. Loads of tools spare parts kits batteries, swabs cleaning microfibres and my hoppers. Two electrics and four gravity fed in various sizes.

Then I’d have a large duffle bag with my masks(2 each) pads and pod packs.

Going forward I going to try down sizing. Also contemplating trying to down size enuff to fit everything I NEED for a day of play in one of my motorcycle hard bags. So I I can go to a field that’s a good drive away and camp and play for much cheaper. One hard back for PB gear. One for my clothes, One for food and water. And lastly my large dry bag on back seat for my camping gear.

A 55-70(?) gallon wheeled tote. it's the only way to do it. Jonnydread and I were discussing this yesterday, I tried taking my *essentials* in a bag and still found myself needing the things I normally keep in my tote. Just bring the tote and let it ride.

The cat will only play stock-class renegade. Picky, she is.

I too am on the "bring too much crap" side. I bought a Condor Colossus gear bag with the intent of simplifying, but it never quite worked out the way I intended. I still end up packing additional markers and gun bags "just in case". This is further exacerbated when I don't know what style of play I'll be playing until I get to the field. If I decide to bring any magfed gear and/or stock class gear, that's even more stuff I'll toss into the trunk. So, it all ends up being a case of bringing a primary and at least one backup of each class of marker (mech, pump, electro, magfed, stock class, etc.) and all of the appropriate soft goods to go with them.

Usually bring 2-3 markers depending on what I wanna run that day. Just one mask and tank but also C02 if I bring the 68 special, few different setups (spring feed, gravity feed/agitated hopper, etc.), A few different barrels, squeegee, allen keys, multi tool, jersey, change of clothes. The markers go in a padded case, everything else in a back pack or in the trunk. Only take my setup and mask over to the staging area and leave the rest in my trunk though.

Same here 2 to 4 gun each time
1 reliable gun... a cocker pump usually
1 spare with unproven reliability that will fail during a game...
1 gun that need chrono and tuning to fix between games
          1 brass
but since I play mostly indoor I can keep most of my backup in my car and just bring one tote inside

Up until a cpl of years ago I brought 2 plastic totes a toolbox and a large duffel bag. These would contain tons of stuff I might need or may use. After a weekend of paintball I would spent a couple of days cleaning and packing away all this stuff. I did and still do enjoy taking, using and cleaning up my paintball gear. I just don't always have the time for that anymore. Now I have a planet eclipse rolling gear bag and PE backpack I use. That carry 4 markers 3 tanks and all the gear me and my son will need. It makes it alot easier to get ready and clean up this way. Usually I only have to clean 2 markers because the other two are backups that don't get used.

Alot of the enjoyment I get from the sport is cleaning, maintaining and admiring my gear. Along with that, I get to talk to people who enjoy the same stuff. For me this, and my kids are the reasons I've been playing for close to 25 yrs.

I know what you mean by the zen of cleaning up the gear. It’s part of the reason I like getting old gear and finding it up and making it work. I like the mechanical aspect of it, and having instant feedback. Leak is fix, gun is clean etc. For hockey it’s like taping my stick. Simple but relaxing task.

I usually have a large duffle bag with my markers and a small one with gear like my mask, packs, tanks, etc.

Depends on what I'm bringing... I usually have at least a main and backup and a project. If it's a meet up with friends, I'll bring stuff to show off.

It's tough to know what to bring, on a walk-on day - I try to balance what I want to use with what the other rec ballers are using, so if a Mini or Classic RT isn't necessarily appropriate I try to run my 'Cat. My overall lack of playing skill is usually a good equalizer, though. 🙂
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

I forgot to mention that in my attempt to limit what I take to the field, I’ve started to put together a more modular setup that can fill different roles. For example, if I’m running an Emek as my primary and I feel the need for a bit more firepower, I can simply swap out the frame and convert it into an Etha 2. So, bringing one gun effectively becomes two in the same case. If I want to shoot my Cocker, that’s in the same gun case as well since all of this fits neatly into a single Exalt marker case.

A folding crate from costco after my jt gearbag had it plastic handle broken(used with the rollers) and a side handle broken too.

                  Fit 2 setup well.

I have an empire backpack style gearbag. And or a PE roller bag. Ive been trying to learn to pack less gear, and use the back pack. ( hard if you bring a law) Some fields are so rough between the parking lot and staging, for these the backpack is the way to go. Cant get as much gear in em, but tossing it up on your back, and nagivating the ruts with your feet beats the guys dragging their nice gearbags through the muddy terrain to their picknick tables.

The backpack one also has a nice hook, so if you can post up under a tree or near a strong thing to support it. You can hang you gear at chest height. Fields usually have a few tin canopies set up in staging. I found myself hanging off of these just fine. Its great when its raining, and or staging conditions arent otherwise ideal.

Lastly the backpack type bags are nice are nice for teching. Get yourself a nice small easy to carry table and chair. Find a tree, hang your gear, place table below. Grabbing tools from up high and working at table height in the event you have a gear issue beats working out of a roller bag.

Everyone has their tackle box of field tools, and if tables are avialable, roller bags are usually all staged under tables with 3 to 5 peoples' gear/tools scattered on said tables.

If you are in the roller bag group you are usually working in other peoples' messes or over your gearbag on the ground. And its not great for a the old spine after the 4th scorpion dive of the day.

For that, I advise looking into backpack type bags.

I've used general duffle bags if different sizes, A Husky rolling tool box (great for the money, but way too heavy) until I finally landed on a great local deal. Old school Eclipse rolling gear bag in fantastic condition and was just $50. I only use one or two markers (most often just have one) and it has enough space for everything I need. Plus the fact that it rolls and isn't too heavy makes it perfect.

I roll with a Husky rolling tool box, the smaller size. It is a bit on the heavy side as stated already but I appreciate it is strong enough to use as a chair. I get off easy as rarely do I play with a pod pack and it always blows me away how much space pods take up compared to everything else we play with.

Yesterday I brought five markers to the field. Three of them, plus two tanks, hoppers, spare parts, etc, in a rolling Eclipse bag. Two of them in a padded rifle case I kept in my car trunk until I needed them, and a backpack filled with my mask, forearm pads, and pod pack. And of course a box of paint to top it off. It's kind of pain, but I really like switching markers up throughout the day, and testing different ones.

So it depends on play style Im going for that weekend.

I use my PE backpack when I travel they rock. Throw all my SC gear inside strap a Phantom to the outside. Clip my mask on it with a carabiner and I got everything I need to play for the day in a back pack.

Flounder, Yeah I love that bag. I had to replace the wheels last year but its from has lasted. it also became my rolling suitcase for vacation. My GF almost did kill me when she saw it in 2015...she saw DYE and freaked out that I bought an expensive gear bag.

@Chuck yeah the PE backpack works great for stock class
