I give paint away regularly. Mainly because I travel a lot to play so by the time I make it back to the field to use it up another day it’s probably not worth shooting. I will gladly give it away especially to a new or younger players or birthday parties. On the field I don’t carry much so I don’t really offer much there. But I’m always giving paint away especially opened bags better then letting it go bad sitting in my basement.

I am rarely directly asked, but when I am my response will depend on how much paint I still have on me, game time left, and who is doing the asking. If there's plenty of time left in a game (our games are usually 20 minutes) I'll often just explain that they're allowed to leave the field to resupply so long as they return via the respawn point. If there's a few minutes left and we're making a big push or I would otherwise rather avoid losing a body, then I'm much more inclined to oblige. Especially if it is some kid who has really been trying. Kids who camp at our starting fort shooting bark off trees can go pound sand. If I've already burned through 2 or 3 pods (I usually carry 4) then I'm likely to decline regardless, unless I've brought extra for the purpose of sharing. I'm pretty sure I've been directly asked only by rentals. Most regulars wouldn't bother asking. They'd either just walk off or try to make themselves useful some other way. If someone I know or at least recognize were to ask, I'm pretty sure I'd be too polite to refuse, and they're likely to repay me anyway so it's no big deal.

More common is simply being nearby when some rental is either asking his buddy for paint or is just loudly announcing he has run out. If I'm feeling generous I might step in and offer, especially if there's something interesting going on that the kid would miss out on if he had to trudge back to the staging area.

I occasionally carry extra paint specifically for the purpose of sharing. If we're playing some tower defense/attack and defend scenario, when my team is on the defense side I'll usually add an extra pod in one of my elastic loops so I can help keep a teammate in the game. The caveat is that they have to keep up with the empty pod.

Now, in the staging area, I'm happy to top off some kid's hopper if he's trying to get in one more game before leaving and doesn't have quite enough to fill up. I also try to keep an eye out for kids who appear to be paying their own way and are carefully husbanding their resources. I remember being them, buying paint 100-200 rounds at a time and stretching my lawn mowing and lifeguarding dollars as much as I could back in the day. Those kids I'll gladly help out.

I have not been asked directly. But yeah I have shared with some to top of their hoppers.

Like above it would also depends on who would be asking. I have seen guys just go through paint, try to dump pods into hoppers without care that half the paint ends on the floor.

Last few times I have gone to play I have played with semi and electro. Usually I still two bags. I give him to some kid, ref or cool dude that shared with me.
