    Randos asking for paint

I finally got out and played this past weekend. What a blast!!!
I carry a 4/50 pod pack. In nearly every game I had some random 20 to 30 year olds asking me for paint mid-game. I told them to bring more with them next time. The one time a youngster in the bunker with me ran out I poured a pod in his hopper, but these adults with jobs needn't be begging!

What do you guys think? Are you the generous types, or stingy like me?

Haven't had that happen yet, mostly kids who accidentally dump a hopper because they didn't check the lid. In that case, most people are pretty nice and fill them up.

But I would lean toward stingy as if I run out of paint during a game, I leave. I don't ask someone else for paint and most people I see at the field leave when they run out too. It's on me for not bringing enough or shooting too much during a game, never thought to ask someone else for paint mid game.

Different in staging area as people are pretty generous with sharing. A few weeks ago I literally got a case worth from rentals who were leaving - they just dumped their hoppers into my carrier. If someone wants to get one more game in toward end of day, I'll usually top off their hopper. It's always kids - haven't yet given paint to an adult.

Stingy. Paint isn't cheap so unless I'm just getting rid of it at the end of the day, I'm keeping it. I rarely have people ask though, not really the culture at the local field.

I don't mind donating paint as long as it's not gratuitous. I invariably end up buying a case of field paint, and I generally shoot stick feed and end up going home with anywhere from 2-3 full bags that will just sit around. The fun part is that I use 10-round tubes so most of the time when people ask me to loan them paint I'll dump a single tube in their hopper and cackle at their expression.

I have a bunch of old 10 rounders from way back in the day in a storage tote. Might need to dig 'em out and carry a few just for this purpose.

Edit: Damn, didn't even notice the datestamps until I got to the very end of this thread.

I did this last year. I was running 10 rounders at a big game. Me and a few other guys had a corner of the map we were fighting for. I got hit and one of the guys asked if I had a spare pod. I tossed him a 10 rounder.

I'm pretty liberal with my paint. There have been times even in walk on play I'm grouped up with someone on a push and they are running/ran out of paint and I'll gladly share. If it is just random player (no push) who just wants to stay in the game less likely to share.

Now if it is a big game or scenario and it is the difference between a player having to walk vs. loan (gift) of some paint I'll definitely pony up a pod given I'm not low too.

I rarely give any paint away. Maybe once or twice in the 17 years I've been playing. I need the leftovers because I do a fair amount of testing. I also think it isn't right to ask for paint if you've got a job & can afford it yourself. Carry more on the field and/or buy more. I've NEVER expected anyone to give me paint, even as a broke-ass college student. I've been given paint before, but I can count that number of times on one hand & I've passed on numerous other offers and redirected them to some other kid that looked liked he would need it.

I dont give very often, i have to make my cases last. Usually ill split a pod like at a scenario big game. though its really only when its me and like one other person in a bunker and they need paint. That way i still got a bunker buddy for atleast a little bit.

I’ll top off the kiddos in game and give away my leftovers when I leave for the day. But grown man asking me to throw him “some more ammo”? Yeah, nah.

Nobody asks for paint when you only have 10rnd tubes...

I was gonna say, nothing brings me more joy than tossing someone a 10 round when they ask for paint.

I work for my money. If someone wants the paint I bought with those funds, they need to work with it. Their lack of planning and/or discipline is not my concern.

I'm curious as to how the question even gets asked. Are you just in same bunker and they ask?

Yeah that's usually the case with me. Normally towards the end of a longer game with more aggressive shootouts.

The only person I would give paint on field is a team mate. Some rando asking me for paint ain't gonna fly. May as well walk up and ask you to hand them a $5.

I give paint most of the time. Especially a renter or new player, or to people I know are decent People. (Paint hosers get no love)

I buy good paint at an extreme discount so I don’t mind sharing. I don’t carry much paint on the field so it rare people ask. But I usually give open bags to kids in the staging area. Especially Kids there for birthdays parties at the end of the day. Open bags just don’t store that well for me. So I don’t mind passing it on. If you are out there with $4K equipment don’t come to me for some paint because you have no trigger discipline. (Unless it’s a last ditch Fight it out, outnumbered situation take the walk with your mortgage payment marker)

One time I drove 4hrs to play a big game. It was so poorly run I walked back to the staging area handed a kid an $80 case of paint and drove home. That field no longer offers woodsball it’s probably for the best.

Yeah. It was crazy because played an event there before and it was a lot of fun. That 30-40min Respawn destroyed game play that day. Especially because they wanted everyone to walk to the staging area. So it was more like if you got shot you were waiting Hr. But they got you at the start, with the GI 1 Star for $80 and no option to buy a bag or two. Haven’t been back since.

Yeah I hear you man. I've had some fun days there too, but it's never been my favorite field.
