Look and Provide Feedback Please! (Image Hosting Speed/Data)

Hi All, I'm experimenting with moving all my web resources over to Azure, if everything is working well you should see 14 pictures of an Automag, hopefully pretty quickly!

Can you let me know if the images all load, and if they load fast? Thanks!

Seems work for me. Only issue was scrolling was slow due to the drool on the screen lol. Love the original RTs. Still in my eyes one best looking markers.

Worked well here, I'm on a smartphone using tapatalk (a forum consolidating app)

They look good as is, zooming in loses some detail but idk what you uploaded them as so that may not be your host

Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk

I use Tapatalk which does NOT display comments. If you want me to see it, make it a post not a comment.

When you tap on the images in tapatalk, do they open larger versions? They're still not huge, I'm using 1024 as the 'default' max dimension right now.

Is Azure cheaper than your current solution?

It seems like it is, at least just for the image hosting I'm doing right now.

So instead of paying for a full web host, (which was also rather expensive to add storage to), I just spun up an Azure blob storage account, with an Azure CDN in front of it. I wrote my own desktop tool for doing all the image resizing prior to upload, so I don't have any apps running up in Azure right now. The current 'forecast' is just under $8 a month, but I haven't done enough yet to trust that number.

The Biggest benefit I see so far, is my spending goes only to resources I actually need. I'm not paying for a virtual machine, or database, or anything other than purely the services I am using.

Yea, serverless is super convenient. I've been experimenting with AWS' CDN with some new UI stuff. Seems to work like a charm.

I may do the same in Azure, If I build a static site or static site generator, they support hosting a whole site out of the CDN endpoint just pointing to a storage blob. In theory that would be cost effective, and fast as all getout.
