Getting rid of my Paintball stuff is NOT WORKING!

A while ago I hit a point where I realized, I have too much paintball stuff. So I sold five nice, well-maintained markers. Since then, I have purchased one new marker, won three on an auction site, been give one, and found another in my basement. I was also informed that I had loaned one to a friend in Indiana (I let him keep it).

It's like I have Paintball Herpes or something. I can't get rid of this stuff. Every time I get rid of a couple items, I get a GREAT DEAL and end up where I started, with a basement full of Paintball stuff.

I've bought and sold my entire 'collection' twice over in the last 2 years or so. There is always another nice deal to find and then the cycle repeats itself. Currently, it's autocockers. On the bright side, if you buy smart you can usually break even while still having the opportunity to try tons of different types of markers.

Start fixing and selling gear. Lots of us do this to fund future paintball purchases. I’ve bought 18 guns this year (and a bit) and sold 11 so far and I’m well into the black on purchases. I have about 3 more guns to sell and am always looking for more.

I’m working on a custom build for keeps and restoring an Angel at the moment. Get to learn some things with help of the community and spread paintball goodness by selling working gear.

I’ve sold all but one multiple times. They always come back, and with higher value.

I've been in my Nelson Phase since 1991. It is really hard for me to part with a Nelson marker.

I feel your pain. I have sold my collection down to one marker a dozen times. My most recent efforts got me down to one marker. An old paintball friend of mine sold me a truck load of gear for super cheap. I got it, sold some bits off, literally left boxes of goods I didn't wish to mess with on a table at the field. Another friend GIVES me his gear bag with instructions to GIVE the stuff to people. Did that and kept a cocker out of the deal. Have a left over Tippmann from the other deal....so, the last couple of months I have been selling back down again. Got myself down to two Automags and the aforementioned Tippmann. Have been avoiding the marketplace(s) so that I wouldn't be tempted to buy anything.

Perusing the mag pages on FB and up pops a Diamond Labs valve back for CHEAP. Seemed like a good pick, but now I realize that I have just inadvertently conceded to a new build.

This post looks like you're trying to point out a problem but I fail to see where the problem is

I've *tried* to make it a point to sell stuff in order to fund other stuff. That way I'm "breaking even" and also smooths things over with the misses when packages show up. "I sold a bunch of shit, it's fiiiiine". But that's never-ending! I also look for local and internet deals to flip for a profit.

This is exactly what I do. Sell stuff to fund new stuff. That's the pb fun money. Doesn't always work out that way..... But most of the time it does, lol.

Threw away a lot of junk recently. Besides my cocker i only plan on keeping my brass eagle stuff and im happier for it. Got it down to a couple toats (like 2 of those skinny long ones and 2 small skinny ones, and one marker bag). So nice to just grab them and toss them in the trunk and go. While id like more someday im good with what i got and plenty of them need either service or some part to "complete them" (drop forwards, color matched revys etc).

See until recently I was addicted to reselling stuff. I never had more than one gun at a time for very long (sometimes selling off all my guns and having to borrow from my son). The concept of collecting is not comfortable to me. I buy things knowing I don't want or need it and after brief usage, selling it off at a break even or slight profit. But this year my wife bought me the Emek and I won the LV 1.6. Now I have guns I won't sell. I don't know what to do! To make my condition worse, I started buying push masks and suddenly now I have 3. I know I should sell one or two off but I really like them. Maybe it's a midlife crisis or something!
