I'm really good at buying, but not so much at selling ...
I'm at the point where I need to pull up everything Fromm I'll of my stashes, lay it on the ground and find what I never use ...
My issue is with sheridan ... I have a few stock configuration I always wanted and are hard to come by, but I since got some modded alternatives that are much more fun to shoot than the stock ones ... But somehow I can't seem to post them for sale ...

    Sell 1 and buy 3 ...
Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

This post strikes deep... like to the core. I, like most of you, have got the sickness.

Those "deals" that are too good to pass up usually really are though. They ultimately result in coming out ahead once I inevitably decide to part with that thing too. That's the way I justify it at least.

      Haha, good luck!

I had about 20 guns stored away for nearly 10 years that went completely unused until last summer. I got home from a deployment last spring and pulled them out thinking I would just sell off everything except for a couple to keep in case the kids ever got interested. Well, here I am about a year later with almost 50 guns(one of which is your old Desert Fox, thank you very much) and I’ve sold off another 35 or so over the past year. Now I even have a workbench with bulk HPA and CO2 sources next to it and a full size 6 foot rolling toolbox completely dedicated to paintball stuff. Luckily I got that for free. It’s definitely addictive. I’ve found more enjoyment in the tinkering and fixing than anything else.
The biggest regret is not that I now have a ton of stuff, but that I sold my brand new, never used 2k9 Micromag before I had fully caught the bug again. And it didn’t even have velocity issues. Only gun I wish I could have back.

In late 2017, shortly after learning my colleague was actively playing paintball, I picked up a used 98 Custom on a whim. Little did I know the gun was teeming with Paintball Herpes! I am now fully infected with the PB Herp, and regularly get flare ups that need constant scratching!

I still have it to a slight extent, but I'm not really buying anything now. And I'm pretty much down to what I really want to keep. ~12 markers, counting the 2 Stingrays for my kids when they hit playing age.

In getting older I'm wanting more conveniences. Like gear that actually works with very little tweaking/fixing on my part. There are reasons my older paintguns don't get the field time they used to. I have given up on my paintball wall because I don't really like wallhangers, despite how nostalgic I get from certain pieces. I've sold off quite a few in recent years, and I'm happy where I'm at. I will likely pare down the collection by a few more come the end of the year. It feels SOOOOO good to streamline my inventory. I'm (hopefully...) done with the roller coaster of buy, nuse (or not use...), sell, repeat.

That said, I've been picking up brand-new markers over the last few years. Like it or not, newer paintguns are miles ahead of older stuff. Can't beat the feel and nostalgia of older stuff, but you can't argue with the performance of the newer stuff. If I do pick up any more markers they'll likely be newer.

Every time I think I have everything I need, I find some other small part I "need" or one of last decades must have available for pennies on the dollar. Sometimes it has less to do with buying something useful, and more about the anticipation and excitement that comes with hunting for it, waiting for it to arrive, and trying something new. Generally, any markers I purchase are destined for the gearbag while I use the same old cockers, snipers or phantoms. I'll probably never stop buying shit, and I'll probably never find something that replaces my 20 year old gear.

My tactic is just pretending that some of it isn't personally mine. I only have 4 guns. The loaner fleet for outlaw I mange has about 30.

P.S. thanks again Third of Five on that 98 haul!

About 9 years ago I was involved in a motor vehicle accident that limits my abilities a bit more than I’d like. So I decided I’d keep playing but bring my gear down to the minimum. Sold off most my gear and continued to use the same classic mag I have used for 20+ years in some variation. I love that mag. But for some reason I decided it was time to have it join my other old school shooters as primarily wall hangers.

Soo I replaced it with a GOG eNMEy when they came out. BUT I Didn’t like it.

Then tried a Tippmann Crossover. Great gun I really enjoyed. But the ergos didn’t feel like my Mag and i found I never used the electronics.

So decided I needed to just run my mag again why fix what ain’t broke. But it looked good on that wall so I bought another classic mag and have been modding it for when things open back up again.

of course also need a back up/project so got the Azodin KDII for that to join my Azodin KPII that I had so much fun tinkering with and setting up.

All this means is yeah welcome to the club.
