You can only go so long until USPS F's up

I've had issues in the past, like most people. But not too bad. Where I live now has been fine. Until....
We went out of town, put a vacation hold on our mail. Day after we get back it's all delivered except for three packages, two of which are paintball related. They all showed out for delivery all day until the evening when they were changed to return to sender???!!! Went to the post office because calling is impossible and they took down info for the manager who would call me, but oh the manager is out until today.
These three packages don't show any movement other than return to sender "processed" and still shows my city. The clerks couldn't find anything m Haven't been able to catch the carrier yet to ask him. Pissed off.
    End rant.

That sounds about par for the course lately. I got a credit card number jacked over a month ago and one of the first things they did was submit a change of address for me with USPS. I got the card thing ironed out the next day and thought that the change of address thing was settled too - that's what the lady on the phone said anyway. Well, fast forward to a week ago I'm checking tracking on a package and it goes from out for delivery to FORWARDED... apparently the change of address thing wasn't as ironed as I'd thought. Turns out my mail had been heading to Georgia for at least two weeks and I now had 5 or 6 packages on their way to Atlanta. I went online to change delivery instructions so they'd get sent back to my local post office and talked to 5 or 6 different people with customer service and they said that it was all straightened out... this time... Well, 5 days later I still haven't gotten a damn thing and a couple of the packages show returned to sender on the tracking. I was pissed but now it's morphed into a comedy of errors that I still just can't get myself to laugh at. I mean, WTAF? How hard can this possibly be?
So, I feel ya. Incompetent is the kindest thing I can think to say but it doesn't really sum it up.

Holy wow...that's absolutely insane. My dad has been a carrier for a very long time so I always love picking his brain and also his reaction to less than competent other postal employees.

Update: had to ship something so while there I bugged the clerks again, for a different one this time who printed off their scan logs. He was at a loss for what happened and said their postal chief something someone important would talk to the carrier to ask why in the world they returned to sender. Nothing they can do. SOooooo messages sent to three different sellers to be on the lookout and resend my way...on my dime if necessary.

Oh man, sorry to hear that. I'd recommend making it official... submit an online request. https://usps.force.com/emailus/s/package-inquiry
That gets it in the system and really gets them moving. Those verbal conversations are easy to forget about...

Thanks for that, filled out for each tracking. Here's to hoping something can be done, but probably not.

A month ago, it took them almost 2 weeks to ship me a used mini GS from Indiana to Massachusetts, via priority mail. Tracking showed hit the depot in Indy and never updated.

A week later, it only took them two days to ship a mask and loader from Minnesota via priority mail.

      My brain hurts.

I ship from Indiana and the Indy depot is a Bermuda Triangle for packages.

I had some long standing issues with USPS being able to properly deliver packages to this address. There is another street with almost the same name street and the same number as mine. I actually have contact information for the nice lady that lives there as I had to go see her to pick things up so often. We discussed and I showed her we weren't delivering drugs to the house or anything, lol.
On the old forum someone had posted a contact the postmaster general link. I lodged a complaint there, I got a card in the mail to verify and update some info for my zip code within the entity that was generating the print labels (PayPal) and have not had issue with that since.

The only other significant issue we had was a mail lady that apparently hated her job really badly. We took video of her throwing packages on the ground out at the mail box, and leaving packages in the rain laying out on the driveway. She was not delivering here long.

Given the current circumstances going on with USPS, I would not hold my breath for things getting better in the long run. They are in some serious financial and personnel troubles.

The only shipper that I have absolutely refused to use any longer is FedEx. They effing suck.

I hate FedEx too ... But UPS has their issue too ...
I went to the shop on Monday to receive a $2k delivery with signature required ... I was the ONLY person in the building ... The package was dropped on time at the front door, not a ring or anything (found out looking at the tracking). Called UPS on the signature issue because none signed for it, yet we payed extra for signature ... They sent the picture of the signature ... "Woman" was hand written instead of the signature ...
The driver dropped the box and wrote "woman" in the box ...
We've also had driver back up and drop boxes out of the back of the truck on the ground and drive away ...

I worked for UPS and RPS for some time and learned invaluable aspects about shipping while there.

This is exactly why I don't go to the post office for anything but shipping out. If I'm out of town, I just ask the sender to hold off for a while, so it shows up when I'm there. Most of the time people have no problem holding off a week to send it out.

I have a lot of hobbies and due to this I get something in the mail almost every day, usually from China Post. I almost never have issues but then all the stuff I buy is usually small enough to fit in a mailbox.

Of all couriers USPS is easily my favorite. DHL is easily the worst.

The quickness of EMS has always impressed me, the slowness of UPS Ground from California to Michigan is equally amazing.

Many times I order different things from different sites: Amazon, Aliexpress, and more. I always choose speedpack tracking; it seems to be the best choice because since I use it, never parcels have hardened me arrived faster or on the last day. Thanks to a friend who told me about it and helped me a lot when I need something from the internet and get there in a short time. here you can find all the information about: https://www.packages24.com/carriers/speedpak-tracking

Had a similar issue with Canada Post. Bought an air tank off eBay, shipped to my office. Eager wait it’s arrival, notification changed to return to sender, shipped back across the country. Mail carrier said no one was there, but our office staff, including myself, were there all day. The person way just too lazy to come up the elevator. Seller resent on his dime and included a nice pair of gloves for free, which was very nice.

Also get missed package forms delivered when we are home, and once the mail person even had a conversation with my wife after putting the missed delivery slip on our door. (My wife didn’t notice).

Why do a full job when you can only do half a job and get paid the same, right?
