    undercocking grey ghost?

Has anyone done this? If not, why not?

I love the ergos of the ghost, so nice, but I can't figure on shooting an overbarrel pump.

Are ghosts smooth like a tracer, or jerky like a phantom? (heavy pump stroke)

I love AFG's on pump handles. Just mount a rail and slide it on.

I've done that on a phantom and it's super comfy đź‘Ť

Your not going to find anything “off the shelf” if there is I have never seen one. The Ghost is a side cocker like the buzzard. VS the Phantom / Comp / Gargoyle ware the cocking rod goes threw the trigger frame and keys into the bottom of the bolt. It would be a lot of custom work to get a Ghost to undercock like a Phantom. I’m sure it could be done. But probably not worth the trouble. + you will have large exposed areas on the sides of the marker for paint and dirt to get at the internals.

Unless you did like dual drop style pup arms to a UC kit that bolted similar to the original, and a custom plate to mount the guilds rods, to mount the handle.

I think the stiff feeling of the Phantom comes from the way the cocking rod goes threw the the trigger frame. There is a lot drag there. Especially if you don’t keep it clean or the cocking rod is bent it really bids. The way my Carter comp was a designed was much smoother.

I think something like Dave suggested would be your best bet. Ghost are smooth tho they run pretty light springs and have very little mechanical drag. But kind of splitting hairs when determining the difference between them in feel. To me the difference is more ergonomics then anything.

Smart Parts Boss had a factory undercocking setup. Its quite smooth and has a return spring on the guide. Click image for larger version

Is this rebranded Line SI? Or a clone?

I'm pretty sure they stole it. its cast, not aluminum, so it weighs a ton. there is a steel guide threaded into it, that slides into the pump handle.

Not sure they stole it but they did not design or manufacture it. I did a bunch of testing on them when they were getting ready to come out and it [SP Boss] actually performed quite well and had an excellent if unorthodox pump design for the time. As capitalpaintball (Hi Dave) says it was a heavy beast. Take a close look at the muzzle bread it is threaded and solid metal it alone weighs more then a current phantom 12" barrel. I wish I had kept the one I tested (they offered it for cheap but not free to me) but at the time I was a Phantom user.....

Never seen a SP Boss but that’s exactly what I was thinking. You got one of those Dave?

I will be watching this intently.
My introduction to Nelsons was Nelspots and Undercocker Phantoms…so I just assumed that that was as good as it gets.
I recently picked up a Radar Mark2000 and ACI Maverick, both dual pump arm bore drop Nelsons…and I am in LOVE (with the stroke, not the ergonomics).
It may be the lack of pump return spring or lighter mainsprings used in those markers that really makes the difference vs a Phantom. I will have to try a well adjusted Phantom without the pump spring and a blue mainspring to know for sure if they still feel better than a Phantom, but I can now see why some rave about the stroke of the dual side arm Nelsons and turn their noses up at Phantoms.
It would take some kind of an undercocker for me to truly embrace them though. Cause I am weird like that.

The Radar Mark 2000 might be one of the most underrated nelsons ever. All metal, anti-doublecock, removable barrel, velocity adjustable bolt.

If you're liking the Maverick/Trracer, maybe look into the ReconSlide. Not sure if ReconSWS is still making them or has any on hand, but if I remember correctly they do drop the pump handle a bit below the barrel (oblong-ish vertically, like the PRP). Not Phantom UC kit low, but it looks a bit lower than the stock handle.
I have no actual experience with his kits, so don't quote me on anything. Just thought of them.
