interesting use of the armson oeg sight

wish I could share the picture. From a Wall Street journal article about the Taiwan military, it shows three grenadiers with the "recent" revolving grenade launcher and the armson sight on them.

First, idk if that sight is common on that system. Second, the article is about their readiness for a conflict with China, so you might say they should improve their sight.

I just thought it was a cool use for that sight.

    I think this worked...

Makes sense. I think this is a South African Grenada launcher. Might even be made by Armson themselves.

I just noticed that the sight is sitting in a range adjusting cradle as well.

I remember browsing the Armson site a few weeks ago and the only sights that were actually in stock were the versions for the Street Sweeper.

Ahh, the Milkor grenade launcher. I was damn near tempted to join the USMC around '06 when they started buying these and made a dedicated grenadier position for using them. Always wanted to blow some stuff up with one!

You guys DO know that occluded-eye gunsights predate paintball by two or three decades, right?

I always get a kick out of the younger, or at least less experienced crowd, who sees some piece that was designed and in use long before it got adopted for paintball, in one of its original uses, and thinks it's the other way around. That the paintball thing got used for some non-paintball use, rather than the other way around.

Clippard rams, original-style 3-ways, those old pushbutton 'Cocker bolt pins, Thermo valve tanks, 10-round tubes (originally cigar tubes) and plenty of belts and straps used to hold 12-grams (originally made to hold shotgun shells) that fluffy bit on the end of a lot of pull-through squeegies (shotgun barrel swabs) push-connect air lines, braided stainless lines, motors in the old agitated loaders (RC car servos) any 1911 grip panel.... The list goes on.

I don't know who first developed the OEG, but I know Aimpoint had a version available in the sixties, according to a couple old magazines I have. I am not by any means certain, but I was given to understand Armson was making an OEG and other bits, before getting into the paintball market.

My surprise was that a sight that old is in current use.
