I didn't think it would happen, but yesterday I paid for a BNIB Sterling Stock Class STP!
Like most people I thought Arrow Precision (AP) stopped production and was only making paintballs. After buying an older 90s Sterling and falling in love with it, I kept trying to contact AP for springs and cup seals. I never once got a response. Their website is outdated and dead, and their FB presence is almost non-existent. However, I stumbled across Powerball UK's (PB) FB page that looked active and said they were the sister company to AP. So I started messaging them letting them know I wanted to buy a SC STP. I never got a response. I then googled and contacted every paintball store in the UK asking if they would help me buy a SC STP. Only about half responded, a couple with just "no" in the content of the e-mail others basically saying it was too much trouble to deal with shipping. In every case I made it clear I was okay with large shipping costs and wait times, it didn't matter.
Well a couple weeks ago my brother who is in the military came out to visit. I told him about my struggles and he said "I have an international phone plan, why don't I just call the company". So when he got back home to TX he called and he said a guy answered right away and when my brother said he wanted to buy a SC STP the guy just responded with "Eric?" (my name). So he was fully aware I was trying to buy one. He told my brother to call back in a week. So we waited and he did, the guy then told him to have me e-mail him and he would respond. He is unable to ship to the states and I think that is why he doesn't respond to e-mails from the states, but I then told him I have friends on the military base in England and he can ship to them, and they will ship to me. That worked for him so he responded with pictures of 5 different colored STPs. I picked the one I wanted and paid over the phone and he is shipping it to my friend in the UK who will ship it to me. I hope to have it before the end of the year!
I really wanted the purple one but it is missing the trigger shoe. So if anyone has a purple trigger shoe, let me know I'll buy it!
He said they are still producing the Sterlings they only come in black but they made this run of 1of 1 colored Sterlings right before the shutdown and have not had a chance to sell them yet.
I told him that Pump and Mech paintball has really picked up in the states and it would be awesome to see Sterlings and Sovereigns on the fields, He said with Brexit it is impossible to ship paintball guns. He said he has contacted every shipping company he can and no one is willing to ship paintball "guns". It is really too bad though, I love the sterling pump!
