I have always used a visor. I prefer the additional help with sun glare, rain, and forehead protection. The amount of times a ball has hit my visor compared to the rest of my mask and body is utterly negligible. But I'm not a tourney player looking for every ounce of performance out of my gear.

An old school Spectra/Proshield just looks naked without a visor. It's an integral part of that classic look. My little collection of Proshields all have the long, rubbery, first gen visors. They've certainly blessed me with a few skips and bounces. All of my lenses are either yellow or clear. I like that the visor keeps glare off my lens in the open on sunny days without degrading my ability to see in the shade or inside buildings. JT lenses being such a nuisance to change, it's easier to match my lens to the darkest lighting conditions I might encounter and use the visor to cope with the brightest.
Only drawback is that my visors interfere with using a GoPro mount. Recently bought one from PaintballDNA only to realize that the back of the first gen visor covers it. I think I can make it work with a short, curved extension arm though, to reach around and place the camera a little back and above the visor. We'll see how that goes.

If mask is offered with a visor I run it. In the rain they are pretty much a necessity in my opinion. And when it’s not raining they are not detrimental in any way.
As far as looks go, it just don’t matter. I’m a fat dude with a bad leg and limp playing an active sport that requires a lot of crouching and running. I look retarded every game damned if I think any mask is going to change that lol.AGD 68 Automag, AGD ULE 68 Automag, Azodin KPII, Tippmann SL68II, Umarex TR50.

I don't like visors, they seem to interfere with natural circulation of air through the mask and fog easier in humid environments. Sure I can run a fan but then I have to hear the fan which I am not a fan of and a fan not running just adds to interference of natural air circulation. Getting bounces vs. breaks is not a concern of mine next game or respawn is to quick to worry about being eliminated due to a random hit/bounce off a visor.
They do help with rain but I tend to just avoid playing in the rain so not a big concern.

I haven't had a visor on my mask at any point in the last decade. I don't want the added weight, I don't want the decreased peripheral vision (especially when crawling), and I don't want my cool headband to be covered up. OR, I'm wearing a gopro, and a visor won't fit with a gopro.
I used on when I was a noob. Took it off, and never missed it.

Anti-Visor! Wear a hat or bandana instead. I tend to play long games, and the visors block the upper vents of the mask leading to condensation build-up or just straight fogging.
If you have a visor that doesn't block the top mask vents... sounds like a good design.
