    Local Demand for Gear

I’m curious to know about your local paintball market. Are there certain times of the year in which you get a lot higher demand? Spring only or do you get a winter peak before Christmas?

My local market has been slow, but recently picked up. I’ve been selling more nationally and a few international deals as well. I’ve now sold everything I had and have people asking if I have anymore guns all of a sudden. It’s a nice position to be in for once, but getting gear is getting more difficult.

There are no local paintball stores here anymore so I think it’s slowed down the local used gear market. Not much for sale, and what is there is often priced very high.($400 Ion, $500 A5) I usually buy larger gear packages or guns that have been neglected, fix them up and and sell at reasonable price and make sure everything I sell works, so people like buying from me and I get referrals and repeat purchaser. Shipping eats up a lot of costs, so prefer to source things locally but it’s looking less sustainable.

What is your local market like?

Locally? Zero. There is nowhere to buy paint or get an air or CO2 fill. Statewide Craigslist has maybe five postings, total, all for ratty blowbacks with CO2 tanks and antique paint. I dunno about FBMP, but I suspect it's not much better. No players I'm aware of, no outlaw groups, no functioning fields.

I haven't shot anyone in two years. If you guys hear a story about somebody up here going nuts in a Wal-Mart with an old Automag, you'll know what happened.

Nebraska is a paintball desert. There sadly is no market here.

        Doc.
        A) none of us would be surprised if you did that

        B) what we would find surprising is that the news article was specific enough to list the automag

Also, if you start going mad this summer, feel free to come join me for Oregon supergame

I will have ample camping space and I probably owe you a bit anyway after getting you confused with docfire last year. Got all excited thought I was meeting your happy Alaskan ass but no, way off. I'd heard of docfire but never put the pieces together that you two were separate people

As for local market, the Portland area is pretty decent, mostly your blowbacks on Craigslist, every once in a while something cool pops up. I purchased a vanguard Creed that I use a lot, phantoms every once in a while, an angel last week, cockers always sell for a premium. It's not too shabby

Same here, unless you go to a city with maybe 20K+ people. And there's only maybe two in an hour radius. Even then, the local Craigslist is barren of anything other than a few Tippmanns. Go to Milwaukee or towards the Twin Cities and it picks up a bit.

Colorado's actually pretty solid. There's been a lot of vintage gear (that I may or may not be sniping) as of late, including the mag I picked up, the mag I sold, and I missed out on a few autocockers and angels lately. A little mad about loosing the g7fly but I didn't have the $$. Lot's of 98's or similar, there's actually a TMC up on the local list. Usually a surprising mix of crappy stbb or ibbf and such, with a few overpriced electros here and there. Often I'll see a person's field sell off when they had kids, and there's a few of those with cheap stbb's up for sale right now. Most of you saw that massive fuckoff lot of SLII's that I missed out on, sadly too, but it's not bad. Most people have a good idea of what the markers are worth, it looks like some people google and take a good look at things before tossing them out there, but there's a few $500+ lots of basic spyders that people think are worth money. Been trying to get this freak kit from a lady but she wants $400 for 2 Imagines and won't budge. I'll see some weirder or rarer from time to time but it's been okay. Local field A has a weird setup that caters mostly to rentals and airsoft, but I'mma check out a field down south from me this coming weekend. I had emailed the field owner and dude was super friendly, was looking for older players who had been in the game for a while to help him with field design.
I could have sworn I had something important to put here...

I've gotten lucky a few times on the colorado based craigslist with a Spyder Hammer, a Piranha Pistol, and a few barrels, one of which was a nickel phantom barrel. Just gotta keep looking!

That's where I picked up that gear lot with the dsds and rapide and whatnot

I’m not on Facebook at all so i can’t speak to that but it’s pretty rare that something pops up on local Craigslist or LetGo. It’s even rarer when it’s worth buying.

Being in Ontario, I briefly considered following the Quebec Kijiji posts for possible treasure......but then I remembered that

BenoitOWN and Alexndl live out that way and then I gave up!

The Quebec use love to offer more on the great deals so I don’t usually buy in price war.

I picked up a CCM'd Dragon this weekend as I got lucky with timing, but even decent deals on Tippmanns etc are going fast. Much easier sticking to my local market, if it doesn't die.

Cdn_Cuda good catch on this CCM dragun pump. I saw it by luck few minutes after it was posted and was working hard to resist

On long island the craigslist market is basically vandalism grade equipment with the occasional Tippmann or Spyder that never sells
