    Smaller markers for smaller people?

So, looking for some suggestions for smaller markers for smaller people, specifically the partner. She seemed to enjoy the first time she went out, but the rentals are too big for her. I'm sure this is gonna raise some questions, I'm your average 5'5'' overweight panda, but she's a very small petite 4'9, and lacking in reach on the arms. She isn't the strongest but can hold some weight, so thinking about a pack with a remote line to help with things for starters. She played with a local player's TCR, so smaller profile markers definitely work for her, but she can't really handle the 'mag without serious weight reduction, and the pull stroke on the LB make's her shoulder lock up due to some arthritis. I'm thinking a phantom, maybe a TIPX. If she decides to stop playing, I'll use or sell whatever it is I get her since we don't have a ton of extra room for storage atm. This is far more for her than it is for me, and I've got...an okay budget. don't think the extra weight from magfed is the way to go, and trying to figure out alternative loading solutions aside from me being her dedicated paint donkey. Budget is...okay, so, I can work something out for her over time.

Suggestions aside from remote lining (already working on QD's and slide check's for that) and or 12g vsc setups, would be greatly appreciated.
I could have sworn I had something important to put here...

First gen GoG eNMEy is compact and lightweight, being mostly made of glass reinforced nylon.

The Automag: Not as clumsy or random as an electro. An elegant marker for a more civilised age.

This is what I gave to my girlfriend. I put a 50 round hopper and a 13ci tank on it as well.

I would suggest an emek. a small fiber tank and a revy or similar hopper would be a very light set up.

I have exactly one revvy, and two 13 ci's. I think she can use those however. She likes the idea of using a scope or red dot to aim, and I know that's a little hard to do with how bulky and heavy most milsim style markers are.

          That would be pretty sweet.

As the Mini had already been suggested maybe a BT TM7? It’s a Mini in the inside. Compact, has a stock so nice for a shooting with a remote line. Run a small light tank and a light hopper.

They have an offset hopper or you can run a RipClip on it, so room for a sight on top.

          I wouldn't recommend this.....

They are prone to catastrophic breaks and have no parts available.

The bodies tend to crack and once that happens. Rip.

Working on that too. I have owned a Tcat, and they aren't shabby, plus whoever modernized one.

I don't think there is such a thing as a "light" milsim...

Gun wise, a small electro (they can be lighter than a TipX)... If you play limited paint, then a Phantom with a 50 round hopper. Don't discount using a Spyder type mech. They can be pretty light with air on remote.

Tank: Stick with the 13 ci's, or at the largest a 45/4500.

Pods: If she carries her own, then one or two 100 rounders or smaller. The Tac pods are easy to carry.

Hopper: A 200 round revy, or a smaller one that is custom made and powered.

A lot will depend on whether she shoots carefully, or prefers spray and pray. As well as the game format...

Use a lightweight vest to carry tank and pods. It distributes the weight better, and provides protection. There is the disadvantage of more hardpoints for paint to break on.

It's not unusual for someone bigger to haul paint and air for a smaller person. We do it all the time...

I have to shoot down the tipx

Two problems, if she is smaller I'm assuming she doesn't have Shaq hands and since this is mag in grip the grip for it is somewhat larger. Also, these things are a HUGE pita to work on. It's a clamshell design and you can't air up anything until the whole marker is put together. Have a leak? Besides regulator adjustment it's literally a game of guess and check and each check involves burning a 12g

It really sounds to me like she just needs to get used to aiming down the side. It's super common for new players to want to aim over the top because that's how everything else in the world aims. But typically you are not also wearing a mask. Takes a little getting used to but typically the end results are better because you can always aim down the side, can't always aim over the top

That aside, if it's a requirement, it's expensive but the empire dfender is an option that fits your criteria. It's larger than some of the stuff mentioned here but not overly so. You can aim over the top and the balance is very rearward so I imagine that would help arthritis issues

If that's not an option, I actually just picked up some proto slgs (thanks cuda), that are plastic bodies with aluminum internals and really light. Throw a drop forward on those and it would really help the balance of you are running tank on.

Also, a word on the arthritis front, I also have it and if you want to do remote it's a good idea to still have a stock (gas through asa stock can screw into anything) because without it you are leveraging the arms and making the lower back still do a fair amount of work.

Agreeing with Mr. B up above. eNMeys are great shooters and super light and small. The newer Azodin blowbacks are quite light as well and a Thundercat, while small, still has some heft to it.

If she likes pump a VSC Phantom with a small tank rather than 12g is another great lightweight setup. I run a 9ci vertically on my Phantom, which would eliminate the need for the extra remote gear. If you can find an Empire Trracer those are wicked light and have some handy features, particularly being cocker-threaded, plus you could easily mount a red dot if she wants to try a sight.

Jonnydread I was gonna suggest a Trracer as well. Either model would work. I'd prefer those over a Phantom for the pump stroke alone, but that's just me.

Headshotted For loading & keeping weight down, she could run 50rd tubes if she doesn't want to mess with 10rd tubes. APP has 50rd pouches & tubes and they're not bad. Not the best, but they're cheap enough. I use them when I play pump. Look here and click pouches: http://www.allenpaintball.com/retailframeset.html For some reason, my gray ones are oversized a little (have to stuff the bottoms) but my olive ones are perfect size for 50s. I wear them right on my work belt so they're tight.

EDIT: On the Trracer thing, if she wants a bottomline (not backbottle) I believe Phantom grip handles fit the Trracer so you could run a standard ASA. Don't quote me though- I think I read it somewhere on here a while back.

While the Phantom def. doesn't have the lightest or smoothest pump stroke I would argue they shoot better than Trracers. I have a theory that the open bolt face of the trracer affects how they shoot.

Jonnydread I dunno, that SC Trracer you sold me a while back shot pretty darn good. I have no dog in this fight, though. I don't care for Phantoms and OP mentioned his lady was petite & had some shoulder arthritis. Just kinda threw it out there.

I do have a Maverick that Carp sold me, but I am waiting on qd fittings and asa adapter parts before I can set it up for a remote line, which might be perfect for now.

I'd suggest maintaining the traditional ASA "bottomline". Having a remote line removes the "tank as a stock" aspect of holding the gun, which places more weight that has to be constantly held up on the arms. If you train her to either cradle the gun in her arms or always keep the back of the stock against her shoulder, it will become easier for her to keep the marker setup balanced, rather than consciously "holding it" the entire time. Lightweight loaders and not having a full load of paint helps, and making sure the setup is balanced will also help a lot.

I've seen smaller players struggle with the 48ci tanks. My nephew used my 26ci tank for a few years before upgrading to a 50ci fiber tank. But that was before the new 15ci/4500s came out.

Marker wise, can't go wrong with an Emek, Axe, or mini.

Personally I like the Rotor hoppers but everyone seems to love their spires too. Revys are also pretty light.
