Thoughts on the Edge barrel kit?

I am trying to work a deal which is good value for myself and a buddy of mine whom has a marker (the Mini I have been asking about) for sale. Included in the package he has offered me is a J&J Edge kit. Never used one. I see they are still available for sale just over $100. Worth it? Worth using over a (less sizer selection) Eclipse kit from a Geo?

It's a good kit. I wouldn't say top of the line but definitely worth$100 if that's the full kit (5 backs 3 fronts)

I have one, it's really good at shooting out breaks so it really comes in handy if you have a situation where the field paint is breaking like crazy. The other nice thing is with that full kit you can make 3 complete barrels so if you have a friend that needs a barrel, it might not be the exact right bore size but it will be close

They're still well made; I have one for my Spyder and another in 'cocker. IMO, a little ugly by modern standards (not a fan of the dust charcoal), and the bore is a touch short for ultra low pressure stuff (like Tornado valves) but quality is top notch.

I wish I had some of the classic gloss fronts from the STO cockers. Those looked the part.

Edit: older kits only went down to .682, which is the biggest paint I've seen this decade. If it's got .679 and smaller, it's worth more.

I echo Trbo on this. I actually have a permanent scar from an edge kit! Good kits, shoot nicely. Used to run one on my A5 and recently I ended up with a cocker threaded kit.
