    Bleu Air Compressor

Has anyone heard about this new compressor coming out? 4500 psi output for paintball tanks, 3000 psi for scuba. Doesn't look like it needs a cooling system. Powered by a wall outlet or car battery. No price listed yet, but the VIP newsletter signup page suggests the starting price will be less than $300.

There's also no mention of how fast the compressor works. Maybe it's more like the Shoebox and does a slow fill to help keep the heat down.

I'm definitely getting a too-good-to-be-true vibe from the whole thing, but that probably just means the actual price will be crazy when it comes out.

probably going to be extremely slow at that price point or unreliable.

Looks like it's just a rebranded version of the Chinese oil-less compressors that have been available for years. This is literally the first result from Google for "12v pcp compressor".
      I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

I have a team mate that bought a similar Wen compressor. He has been happy with it, but his needs are humble.

Thanks for all the info, guys. I was tempted to maybe pick up something like this for my local woodsball club. Maybe fill our 3000 psi tanks with it between games while it's plugged into one of the car batteries. But it doesn't sound like this is ideal for that. It would take far too long. It's intended for PCP rifles, which require similar psi demands but much smaller volume tanks. Good to know.

Ya the only way to get instant fills is to have bulk tanks pre-filled. I saw a guy fill a 68/45 with a Yong Heng and it took him like 10 minutes to mostly fill it.

We've been using a scuba tank to refill our paintball tanks, which is definitely fast and easy to use, but it only goes up to 3000 psi, and even with 100 cubic feet (which is larger than the standard 80), we're usually running out by the end of the day. So, I want to get something else. If a compressor isn't going to work fast enough, though, I guess we should get a second tank instead. Or a bigger tank.

As someone who played outlaw ball extensively, in Fredericksburg and Stafford long ago. I am very impressed you are managing on a single scuba. Before stores like TMX, Soggie Bottoms, and Powerline opened (which I am sure all have since closed) we would get our co2 filled by Corky's downtown, in fact that is where I bought my Tippmann .68 special.

At a certain point I remember us using a cascade system of 3 scuba tanks, but even with just 4-10 people that didn't seem to last nearly like co2 would. The real killer for me at least, is that you don't actually get that much capacity out of 3000 psi on an Automag since the last 1000 psi starts to go downhill real quick, but my other primary gun was a Shocker Sport, which is famously bad on air.

Before TMX got a great deal on a flamethrower compressor (It was towed behind them in a trailer), I believe they used an Air America Genesis with a normal high flow compressor and a 4500 psi source tank (actually I think it was a 6K with a regulator), but unlike the Shoebox compressor, that thing would fill a tank in just a few minutes if memory serves me. I don't know if you could find one around, or a modern version of it, but something like that seems like it would allow you to meaningfully fill a tank faster than these Amazon ones would.

We're very lucky that there's now a scuba shop in Fredericksburg near the Falmouth bridge. Most of us get our tanks filled before the game, and then we're only using the scuba tank to top off. Also, we play limited paint, and most of the players have Emeks now, which are far more efficient than Automags. But yeah...air management is always a concern, and we keep getting more and more regular players. We need to add another tank or something soon.

I signed up for the heck of it.

Seems nice to keep tanks filled at home for tech and testing without spending a ton of $.

My thoughts as well. Maybe not ideal for "playing" conditions, but definitely good if your tech and testing lots of stuff at home.

I saw a comment from an employee posted on FB that stated a 80/4500 would take approximately 50 minutes to fill.

You're not gonna be filling up the club between games unless you have several and cook between meals.

I hope they cook between meals.

I have personally decided against getting this compressor. I'm going to buy a new carbon fiber scuba tank instead. However, I already reserved a VIP spot for the Kickstarter campaign. So, if anyone else wants to get one for $129, let me know and I can forward you the link once I get it. Keep in mind that it's a Kickstarter, however, so who knows how long it will take before the pre-order is done.

                    Here's the link.

There are still 11 early bird spots left at the time of this post. Who knows how long that will last.
