Mech ion, does a qev matter ?

As far as I know a qev. is really just there to lessen the dwell time between pulling the trigger and firing. It’s not really going to do anything for efficiency will it? Also if I’m building a Mech ion is a qev really even going to make a difference ? I’m not gonna be going after 15 balls per second I’m gonna be shooting maybe four.

Also I have an old Clippard free flow. I believe that was their version of the QEV correct?

I have mechs with either. There's no difference on how they shoot. The bolt can only move forward as fast as your finger can pull the trigger, so you won't gain any more speed out of it.

I disagree. I found the qev is totally required for mech ions. It makes short stroking much harder..

It depends.

If you don't have your hoses run perfectly, and have a slight kink in the hose going to the breech, a QEV will bandaid that.

If you're running a double barrel mech Ion, you need QEVs.

If you're running a barebones mech Ion, a QEV will allow it to cycle a bit faster, which can bandaid poor trigger discipline, at the cost of reducing the antichop effect.
