The 2022 Castle Jam video released on both PBNation's and Pinnacle Paintball's channels is awesome. The latter 2/3rds is a montage of action footage brilliantly edited to fit the music. Oh yeah! Forgot about that one. I watched it when it first came out. Really well done and a nice modern montage video in the sea of "TikTok" length videos that are around today.

That event was one of my favorite events ever. So. Much. Paint. It's hard to describe and even the videos don't do it justice. I've never been in a louder environment than the inside of that Castle the first 45 min of the game. I literally couldn't get my teammate less than 3 ft from me to hear me full-on screaming at him, and the amount of paint dripping down the walls was like the ooze in Ghostbusters II. Poor kid in cleats next to me up there was falling down like a newborn deer on ice. That game was unbelievably fun, and the players had amazing attitudes. You knew you were going to get overshot. You knew it would be from close range. And no one complained. It was go back, tag up, try again, and then go back and hang out. I'll go every single year that they have it.

In the modern Era, the running commentary from Rich Telford calling nxl events for gosprts is pretty funny.

And I've watched obscure influence way too many times over the years.

One thing I'd like to see again, is an old video my local PB store used to have- they rented it and I think two other PB videos. (Back when 'renting' actual cassettes was still a thing.

As I recall, it was the "St. Louis Big Game", or something like that, I believe from either '92 or '94. Had a lot of celebrities from the day, including a couple of Ironmen, Oh Pawlak, and a few others. (Oh at one point is standing on a ridgeline, shouting [in a clearly joking manner] "Hey, stop shooting at me! Don't you know who I am?!?" And at another point, Danny Love, with a Sniper pump, is popping a few shots at someone, and telling the cameraman "if we can just weaken their defenses by one more man... there. You're outta there, guy!" [Or something like that.])

There was also a shot of a guy using a small rock-and-cock pistol, that we all assumed had to be a customized PGP from the size and shape, but which I realized a good many years later was a 707.

We watched it a bunch of times back then- no YouTube, you understand- but at this point I haven't seen it since probably '97. I'd be curious to know if anyone else has seen it, and/or if there's a copy out there anywhere.

The store also had an NPPL tape from about the same time, showing I think a World Cup event, in the woods (or what passed for it, with small brush and palm trees) between the Ironmen (prominently featuring Dave Youngblood with a bright-silver 'Cocker) and the All-Americans. I'd be interested in seeing that one again, too, just for the nostalgia of it.

That St. Louis Big Game video sounds really familliar. I think I have a burned copy of that on DVD that I got from an MCB Secret Santa years ago.
I'm going to have to dig that up now!

Edit: I was thinking of a video I have of the 1989 Monster Game. I have an old Ironmen video from around that time that I think I was lumping in there with that one.

I lived in St. Louis at the time (grade school) and watching this game plus my dad's description of playing with his friends in the late 80s/early nineties fueled my imagination. I couldn't wait to finally play. And then, when I did...I was scared to death.

One With The Gun: Tournament Paintball Techniques - Maximus Lundqvist

Back in the day this one stood out to me the most, it taught me new techniques and drills I still use today. The snap shooting techniques really upped my game at the time. I probably have it on DVD tucked away somewhere in a Rubbermaid.

I came across BKiT the other day on Prime. The early part of that movie pretty much describes my life for a decade plus. I never made it to the upper "pro" ranks level but was damned close for an older player (comparatively) before my accident put the brakes on. It brought back a lot of old memories of games, players I knew and had memorable times with. Got in my feels just a little bit. The later part of the movie was ongoing as my interest and ability in the sport was waning significantly. Just about my favorite aspect aside from the game footage was of all the old markers and how many of them I owned at one point or another.

I will look for some of these others just for a kick. Thanks!
