    Splatmaster and Rapide question...

I have some Delrin Speed Wheels for the Splatmaster. I seem to recall someone telling me the CO2 knob for the Splatmaster doesn't work in the Rapide, but I haven't been able to confirm that. (I have a Splatty but no Rapide.)

Anyone know? If they aren't interchangeable, anyone know why? Length? Thread?

Also, I've been assuming these plugs also work on the old GZ-1000s, but I've never been able to confirm that one, either. Anyone?

I sold mine, so this is from memories ...
Some plug are cross compatible, but not all, the tolerances are pretty loose ... When i tried to model and 3D print plugs, they matched the splatmaster, and fit it really well, but they did not fit the rapid at all.

No idea about the GZ, never had one.

They are more or less the same.
I have had some that fit great in rapides that don’t fit well in regular splat masters.

They will start to thread in but they are very loose and will usually slip when tightened down.

Most of them interchange just fine though.

I have a Rapide, I don't know much about it, but can take pictures or measure stuff if that helps.

            Year-plus update:

I was making a fresh run of Speedwheels, when a longtime reader contacted me about an old marker he'd found in his old gear, and wanted to know if I wanted it.

Yes, it was a very silly question.

Anyway, I now have a Rapide, complete with mags, to go with my Splatties, and can compare the plugs directly.

They're not exactly the same, though they're awful close:

The only significant difference is that the Rapide's threads are slightly tighter. The wheels I've been making are just right on the Splatmaster, but snug- but functional- on the Rapide. I think if I loosen up the threads just a touch- like .005 to .010"- they'll be completely interchangeable.

I think that's a generational change not a model type change.... The one on the right looks like what is in my side cocking early splatmaster. The left looks like what's in my later ones.
          Working...
