Should We Do Forum T-Shirt?

Not missing a thing, just considering options. The Hawaiian is another good one. I'm surprised JonM hasn't popped in here with his version, I think he's the guy who was playing around with this a while back anyway.

You're missing the point. The joke to the whole thing is it's impossible to distinguish between the "newbie" and "expert".
The one MCB change would be to have the "expert" be identical to the newbie, except wearing a Hawaiian shirt.

The original, if I recall correctly, was buy a guy named Rob Hart (maybe even Rob Hart Jr.?) and appeared in something like a early-mid-'88 APG. We were talking on the old board about who might have done it- I originally attributed it to Fred "Sgt. Splatter" Moulton, but somebody asked him directly and he said it wasn't his.
Anyway, somebody found it in the early APG scans right here on MCB. I don't know if anyone still has those archived, but I know there's a couple of Facebook people scanning the old mags too.(Unfortunately, FB is basically unsearchable and the galleries are very poorly laid out.)
If anyone has access to one of the archives- or even the original magazines- I'm pretty sure (but not positive) it was somewhere mid-'88.

Is it possible to do a Hawaiian print on the sleaves of a tee shirt and a mcarterbrown on the front?
I like the first design.

I would like more forum garb, preferably a hoodie cause you can never have too many. No preference on design really, but I adhere to the 'less is more' mentality as well.

I'm in for 2. I'll even represent our defense, pro bono, in court should the original artist surface and sue.
Also, I am not a lawyer.

I think you nailed it!
The key here is to be respectful, if there is no money made and it's only available through here as "someone made a batch of cool tee with a iconic print" it seam to be more homage than "stealing the design" ...
Let's make sure we're all on the same page, give proper credit where due and transparent about what's happening.

When I see the image on this forum, I obviously know what it's referring to, but to the uninitiated, I could see "combat manual" starting some strange conversations.
It would be nice if we could get ahold of the guy though. The crux of the cartoon is as true as can be. You see the same trend in many scenes. By the end you're literally a mirror image of your noob self and most of the wank you blew $$$ on in between is gone. While you can steal the joke and be more legal its also less cool. Just jack the image respectfully as is.
