Any adapter made needs to clear the end of the handle, ssc's adapter is a tad big and doesn't fit the end of the stock handle, atleast this was the case with he one I had, that's why you may need a different handle or bore the stock one out

A5/prolite front would work. It would probably need an oring to keep the barrel screwed in though.

I built a trracer forever ago with one of those adapters and you have to find a pump handle with arms long enough and with a 1in ID, i forget what handle or barrel i used, had to use some velcro strap to keep it from wiggling around a bit though, I'm guessing any skilled machinist could bore the stock handle if someone wanted, and only cause I found one in my parts bin it would never work on a tag master cause of the way the handle attaches its similar to the phantom with the rod

Oh? Seems an odd choice, since 'Cocker barrels generally won't fit through a Trracer pump.

That's been the big sticky point in SL-68 conversions, too- adapting something like a 'Cocker barrel won't fit the pump. And not everyone wants to go through the effort of fabricating an undercocker setup, or a larger-ID pump grip.

    Doc.

SSC already makes Lapco style sizer backs for the Trracer that are also a cocker adapter fyi.

    Packed - I'll PM tracking 😎

Why not a sizer 675 trracer to phantom thread? Phantom barrel should fit inside the pump, they are smaller bore than stock trracer and can come freak bored
-That's doable, too. But would require the user to also have or buy a Phantom barrel. A Trracer-Trracer adapter could be bought, all by itself, and used with the stock barrel.

Actually, I do... I would be willing to loan one. I'd just want dibs on some sizers
-I'll take you up on that! (Unless somebody has one in good condition they want to sell outright?)

I'll PM you a mailing address.

No, unfortunately. The breech end of the original Trracer barrel is just too thin- and this multi-part setup and the conventional-style Freak tip threads won't fit inside the Trracer pump anyway.

What we need is something like a LAPCO breech sizer- Traccer thread to Trracer thread, and maybe in .680 and .675" bores. You'd have to take the snap ring off the factory barrel, if you haven't already, but something like that might be workable.

Anyone got a Trracer they want to loan me?

Now that you have created a system to "Freak the Unfreakable" do you feel that a Maverick/Tracer barrel is possible to produce or does the nominal O.D.of the barrel still make the wall too thin?. There's has to be a few thousand or so still kicking around and these could benefit fom this. there have been some smaller i.d. barrels produced in the past,as small as .684, however with paint getting smaller, this might be a feasible solution. Just thinking out loud.

    Any input is appreciated.

-I was given a Stingray II last year, in order to see if I could make a Freak back to fit (but haven't checked it yet.) If the Tigershark uses a screw-in barrel, I don't see why one of these wouldn't work. Got one to loan out?

So... What about F2 Illustrators with the thumbscrew barrel, while also retaining the foregrip?
-An Illustrator should be able to take a conventional back- not necessarily needing these "retained" backs- but I think the "knuckle" where the back and tip screw together, would interfere with the foregrip.
