What Do You Do With All The Extras?

Alright, fellow horders. What do you do with all the miscellaneous chaff you end up with? All the little bits and pieces not worth selling or no one wants?

I’ve got a giant bin of such stuff. Do I just try and sell it for cheap on the local Craigslist? What do you guys do to clean stuff out?

I've always had good luck with adding a "free w/ purchase" list to my sales posts or adding stuff to larger sales. I'd like to give stuff away at my field, but I've always been hesitant to cut into the field owner's proshop sales.

Usually add stuff to purchases as well, but my vest collection doesn’t ship well. If it’s a local sale I always make sure to add some extras if the person if good to deal with. No pro shop at my local field, but I so rarely go. Next time I do I’ll give a bunch of stuff away.

I gave it away on here. Lots of guys do cool stuff with bits I would consider "junk".
I used the flat rate boxes, so for the price of a beer, I made someones day.

Good stuff is always horded for Walzmas. Being in Canada limits options and makes shipping more extensive for trivial stuff.

I’ll toss em in, unannounced with whatever I sell (when I remember to check my bins). Make it someone else’s problem…

I toss em in packages as an extra surprise. I also have left stuff at the field for new players whose parents won’t spend or perhaps don’t have a penny to spend. Considering I just threw $50 in paintballs on the ground basically. Who hasn’t been a new player, run out of paint, only to have some jersey wearing fanatic with a purple splash super race marker say “ here ya go kid” take this pod of paint “ an get back in there”. Still warms my heart.

I usually build up totes of gear sorted. Go to big games that host swap meets, and say take it! Nothing comes home with ne, its the dumpster or your house.

It usually gets snagged up.

I have boxes of random paintball stuff everywhere and it almost always comes in handy at some point.... I bought a shoebox Shocker a couple years ago that had a chewed up poppet glide ring - you can't get them anywhere but I had one in a box of random stuff I bought years earlier, prior to ever owning a Shocker. Go figure.

I actually just made a plug out of an old brass Cocker ram for my Hurricane... I'm gutting the lower tube, as it never worked properly (hurray for bespoke internals that predate Rocks!) and running an external WGP bullet, but I wanted to use the LPR body in the lower tube as a volume chamber.

So, extras? I keep 'em. 🙂

Don’t worry, Internals, springs etc all get properly horded. But I end up with crap mechs, overflow Tippmann parts, hoppers, remote lines etc. And so many vests….
