First time on a field in 19 years

So I finally got around to checking out the local field this afternoon. It rained the entire time, there was only one guy there when I showed up, and I was chopping paint so hard I don't think any shots went further than 15' before violently committing to new, more creative trajectories. It was amazing.

We managed to win about half our games, I got a couple good flanks in and earned a nasty welt right under my shoulder padding. I switched to my leaky Squall for the last two capture the flag games (after burning 4/6 12 grams trying to chrono the damn thing), and eventually got an elimination with it. Even managed to snatch the winning flag on the last game, even if I almost got lit up by the guy I thought was covering me after I dove in behind him.

I was surprised how little I cared about getting hit. Getting pinned down is less fun than I remember now that all non-rentals are 10+ bps. Maybe next time I'll be brave enough to bring a pump. Probably not ready for stock class, but I haven't given up on my secret dream of finding enough people to play stock as a group.

Almost two decades, wow! Kudos on getting back. Things have changed immensely but the fun to be had hasn't dropped off a bit.

Did you rent then? Or still have some old stuff you brought?

It is always good to be back. Stick to your guns (literally) old school is the school.

Thanks! I've been lurking in the BST here long enough to have picked up some really cool markers (also an impulse control problem apparently). I mostly played with the autococker I got from Chuck E Ducky earlier this year. I'm not yet sure why I was doing so poorly with it, it was shooting like a dream but since my brother chopped a ball in it I think it may be cursed. Definitely not a me problem, no way.

The only marker I have from the '00s is a PMI LB that I have no memory of acquiring, I'm still a little intimidated to bring that out...

Definitely. The staff was amazing and you could tell a lot of thought went into the layout. Also hard to beat a 10 minute drive from home.

Yeah I'll need to break out something old school once I have my fundamentals down. I'll bet that field hasn't heard a good POOT in some time.

Hell yeah! Might have just short stroked it.

That trigger pull is set to go fast but you got to make sure you are pulling it all the way it’s tuned short. Don’t baby it. What type of hopper you put it on it?

Just a revvy. I put ~300 balls through it in the backyard right when I got it without issues, that thing shoots like a dream. Probably just game day nerves, guess I'll just need more practice with it.

Nice! I'm trying to follow suit... Once I finish my ko... Or fix the squallicane......

If you happen to want to part with the squall, please lemme know >.>

But it's fantastic to see others getting back into it... I'm hoping this is the summer things behave and I can play too

Been a while for me ( a few years) but I think I'm going to drive out to Dynamic paintball outside of Denver and check it out. I needed to order a new tank though since it was almost at 15 years old.
