If you don’t play paintball, you can’t get paint checked. Remember that, boys.

Yelling "Get Out!" in Rec-ball

I'm the polite
dissenter on this topic.
Paintball is a loud chaotic sport. Often the communication is loud. I've been told, accurately, that I have a huge voice.
My volume doesn't equate to anger or hostility. In fact , when reffing, I have told players I will yell. That voice doesn't mean I'm angry with you.
Plenty of sports are loaded with actions that are rude outside of the context of the game. I think this is one of those times.

Along with what Chappy said, I don't think the volume is the issue. Yelling is the nature of the game, but the overly aggressive yelling to newbies when they haven't had a moment to react is no good in my book.

Context is everything. If you aren't nice to the newbies you aren't going to have people to play with tomorrow.
An old forum dog Jamie ( known as Phantommenace and Casper on the older boards) and I used to give each other relentless ear beatings when we played against each other. A mutual friend told us it made him uncomfortable. There was nothing but love between us, but we made an effort to downshift .
So, I do try not to be part of the problem.

coyote, sounds like Smack talk of biblical proportions. Strangers thinking that you are calling down the wrath of the closest local deity on each other. The folks that know you all, know you are the best of friends!
Nope, know nothing about that. People around us thought we were about to come to blows, and the next thing they see we are buying drinks for each other.

I despise egos on the paintball field, and I'm not talking about Planet Eclipse. We play a silly game. The next time you feel the urge to shout at another human being over a silly game, call yourself out and take a breather.
I was at Supergame East at OXCC this weekend and I heard the first "GET THE F**K OFF THE FIELD" six minutes in, and thusly rang out the chorus all day long. If I were in charge, refs would be punching cards and kicking players for this behavior
And no, I don't accept excuses from tournament players. If you want to be treated like a "professional," act like oneDulce et decorum est pro comoedia mori

Not saying that folks with cameras should be put on a pedestal, but lots are focused in their optic and forget that there is crap flying in the air around them. If I can do my part to keep a few from hitting them, while they take a Kodak moment to make me look good, then I will do my share.
"Yo Mama" jokes are timeless. There will be a cackle from at least one bunker.

I'm stealing the yo mama jokes, especially for woodsball. One of my favorite aspects of my local fields is the shacks that have large sections of netting over windows. Having an opponent you can see, but not shoot makes for some fun interactions.

It is not stealing if it is given away for free. Taunt is a valid tactic, especially when there is an audience. Just expect to get lit up like a Christmas tree, and that sometime your own team is going to forget to shoot back because they are laughing so hard.
After the match/skirmish/etc. I try and find the guy and make sure there are no hard feelings. It is Yo Mama jokes; we are talking Elementary School/Middle School antics here.

Honestly the only time i find myself yelling at newer players to get out, it's because they were hit, they know they were hit, they identify that they've been hit...but they're waiting for everyone else to stop shooting so they can stroll over to the sidelines. I get it and I am not mad, but developing a sense of urgency comes from getting shot or by getting yelled at.

Was just playing this weekend with the shinebox. It was hotter than satans ass and people were aggro left and right. I’m best buds with the field owners and they were like, wtf, all day we’ve been having problems with aggressive players shouting back/forth. They chocked it up to the heat.
I never call someone out. I find it tacky. It’s little wee wee energy. I keep shooting, flank or occasionally charge their position while keeping their head down. If I’m not successful I insert at another angle to exact revenge.
Edit:
I had a really good position on the field and the other team couldn’t dislodge me from it. When they finally got me, I was walking out, got bonus balled as I was clearly walking away with my gun up. Not cool.
