    scope + iPhone = success?

This might be the dumbest thing I've ever made. Or the best? I don't know.

Basically, I got a scout, and I got a nice scope for it, but I can't find a riser tall enough to get the scope up to a comfortable level. And then somewhere down the rabbit hole of internet wandering I saw this stupid thing. And I thought....hmmmm....

fit & function gets a 10/10 but i see this being one of the fastest ways to break your phone on the field

It's my old iPhone SE. It's been sitting in a drawer unused for the past two years, so I don't care if it gets hit. Plus the whole point of a First Strike Scout is to stay FAR away from the action. Hopefully I'll never even take fire.

I'd assume you'd be using an old phone. Would a horizontal work better and reduce the target of the phone?

I tried horizontal first, actually. But that moved the scope picture too far to the left. Vertical feels better. That's where my eyes usually rest when I shoulder the rifle.

Someone on MCB v2 did something like this IIRC and used a micro camera w/display to do a similar thing.

This might give you some dangerous ideas: https://hudway.co/sight

Yup, DJMatt123 (op of thread) scope setup there uses a GoPro adapted to the scope. I think he had another thread going over his optics setup with the camera.

      That's cool.

They do make adapters specifically for this idea. I just have the tools and material to make it myself, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I still might buy something else eventually. They do make crossbow scopes with a screen for viewing instead of an eyepiece. They're just more money than I want to spend right now.
