New Paintball Challenge ! Double Tap Duel !!!

So all the fun videos of the Paintball Pistol challenges had me thinking.......how about a Speedball Gun version!!!!

I'm thinking the game will play best with Electros and the setup goes like this:
    • setup 2 barrels maybe 20-30 paces apart , basically choose a distance that you can still hit someone, but close enough to make the competitors nervous!
    • each competitor's Electro marker is placed on the barrel in front of them, but it's all apart !
    • The tank is off the gun, the loader is off the gun, the barrel is off , and there is 1 full pod of paint.
    • At 1-2-3-Go , the two players have to assemble their markers, power up the gun and hopper, and load that pod
    • The players can assemble the parts in any order they so choose
    • The first player to get their gun together and shoot , has to limit it to a double tap, so no one gets hurt too bad, hence I'm thinking to name it "Double Tap"
Some rules might be , only one paintball has to hit first to score a win, and if you overshoot the other player its an automatic loss.

Anyhow, our season in Canada is kind of wrapped up, so if any of you gents want to run with it, I think it could make for some pretty funny Youtube clips, watching the two players scramble to assemble their guns, and try to Double Tap the other player out first!

    Thoughts?

I would never win but would love to play. Make the markers both E cockers and the players got to get them timed and shooting between 270-280fps. .

I can picture myself immediately cross-threading my tank threads trying to do this in a hurry.

Love the idea and sounds like a lot of fun. Would also want to use some cheap gear for the challenge as I too would likely cross-thread or inevitably goof something.

I've wanted to try something similar with Ghille-Man but we haven't had the time

I call it an airsmith duel.

Get a 6 or 8ft table, or two small tables spaced apart however far you want.

2 identical markers, both chronoed to whatever speed you wish.

Markers are placed on the table, completely disassembled. Air source and a few paintballs nearby

3-2-1 go, each player must assemble the marker and shoot the other player.

Up to the players if the marker needs to be 100% assembled with no parts left or just has to fire a paintball with enough force to break

I can't wait for the blowgun meta to take over for an event before the rules are updated. One person assembles, the other person just hyperventilates trying to lob blooper after blooper until one catches on a sharp corner of something and breaks.

Also, gonna have to use some real beaters for this game. There's gonna be a lot of scratches and crossthreading.

Maybe get a bunch of old STBB's from Goodwill, cover their part before the game starts, and then the contestant discovers what monstrosity he's dealing with when the clock is running.

I could get behind this one! duels are intense! we've done the classic single shot 10 paces thing over the years and its nerve racking as all get out. might be a good one to throw out at Bacci mountain next summer! not shortage of over complicated guns and gun geeks there!

Lol, yeah Ghille-Man and I have both had identical spyders for a while. We will have to do ours on a zoom call or something because of distance but whatever.

It would be fun to do it as a blind competition as well. No idea what you are getting, just a covered bucket of parts, would need a lot of people to organize that

Championship round is something like an autococker with all the set screws and everything removed

yeah, good point, I guess anyone who wants to try this challenge, does so at their own risk !

....but that said whoever does the first live Demo of this on their Youtube Channel ( ahem..... ChuckLove and Riot ) is going to go viral, hit 1 million views, get monetized, and then be able to buy a new asa !

I don’t have a YouTube channel, but this feels like a sign to start one.

First person to drop a 12g, load a 10rd tube into a PGP and shoot their buddy on an airball field. Wouldn't get as many views as an electro but would probably be more fun.

I see your airsmith duel, and raise you one " Machinist Duel"

DocsMachine and MozakMachine each bring a CNC mill and a lathe to the field.

They each start with an equal block of billet aluminum......

Side event, Factory to Face Paintball Duel. Richmond Italia screams at his team of Canadian encapsulators while Todd Martinez offers his Chinese sweat shop children an extra $0.13 a day in order to see who can make a shootable paintball the fastest. Plot twist, RIchmond forgot how to make shootable paint 10 years ago.

All joking aside, this actually sounds doable just not at the field.

DocsMachine and MozakMachine both set up a camera and time lapse build a body from a blank rectangle of aluminum. Showing the time at the start and end. First one to shoot a paintball wins. The agreement is they both post the videos to YouTube at the same time so neither can see the others before.

Loser has to send their marker to the winner
