Dominoes: The Supergame 56 Adventure! / What to do with Machinist Glitter!

It has come to my attention that there is a member on this forum that would like to go to Supergame, should go to Supergame, yet they can not afford to go to Supergame. This member will need to cross a significant body of land and water to arrive, so they can not just drive to the game. I have decided that I want to organize something to help get them to Supergame OR 56 in May. The gift of a flight and ticket to Supergame will be given to the member sometime in the December time frame as a Christmas gift.

What I am asking of the MCB community right now is if you travel for work, play or something else and have a large sum of miles that can be used for a flight on May 2nd and returning on May 6th please let me know.

If you happen to have a couple dollars that you would like to donate for this cause please let me know and we can figure out the best way for you to donate. At this time I do not want to do a “go fund me” or anything like that since they take a significant portion of the funds for “operational” costs. EDIT: When I was doing something with paypal trying to find my info to send out via DM I noticed that you can have a fundraiser for friends and family and they state that there will be 0 cost so I set it up and we will see if it works. What I want to do in return, anyone that donates 10 dollars or more will be given an epoxy domino made with aluminum shavings aka “machinist glitter” from the new Metadyne marker I will be making a domino set of double 12s and you can choose the numbers you want out of that 91 domino set. If someone donates 100 dollars or more they will receive a domino of their choice and an epoxy FSR ornament with gold flake in it. If someone donates miles they will receive a dog tag from Supergame, a gold flake epoxy FSR ornament, and a domino. If anyone goes above and beyond we will have to discuss something special for you. If someone is willing to laser engrave for me you will receive a FSR ornament and domino.

Just to be transparent, any funds that are raised will be given to the member if we reach our goal. I am not going to release the goal at this time to help keep the member in the dark. As far as what I am getting out of this, I will be at Supergame 56 and be able to hang out with this person and any other crazy MCB member who comes!

If there is anyone here that works with a company that may want to help please let me know and we can discuss ways that they can help.

If there is anyone that wants to help make this better I am looking for someone with access to a laser engraver that could engrave something like “Johnny’s First Supergame” and if they could include the flower or something else that would be awesome.

Numbers will be on a first come first served basis, the only exception to that is in the case of a miles donation or 100 dollar plus donation they will have first choice and can bump someone. If enough people want numbers in the same range I may make multiples of them. If you do not care which domino you get then just tell me random and I will pull a random one out of a hat.

I will be shipping the dominoes after the goal is met.

If there is a donation from any company, I will post the donation and will use the drawing at the end to distribute those items.

Here are a couple dominoes that I made to test out how Machinist glitter looks in epoxy. The final version will have colored epoxy and there should not be any faults on the faces. I am thinking about putting color into the dots to make them stand out better.

Last night I received a donation from a member here, not sure if they want to tell everyone so I will remain quiet about who donated. With that said they tried out that paypal fundraiser link and it worked for them, there were no charges for them with a linked bank account but if they were to use a credit card it would have charged them a fee to use that.

As seen in the first post. We are 1/4 of the way to purchasing the ticket and flight to bring one member of MCB to Supergame. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I did another pour to test out for the final and wanted to share the dominoes the Fist strike were not even close to good so they went into the trash. I used 2 different colors the front I left clear. For the backs 1 was poured with an emerald green dye and chameleon purple green powder. The other back was poured with a purple dye and purple green chameleon powder. The picture with 3 dominoes the one on the top 2:8 was just the purple dyed epoxy. My plan is to take this test set and pour a white, blue, and maybe green dots and lines. I will post when that is done. The one with 3 and 2 the purple is on the left and the green is on the right.
