I thought the Era looked pretty decent myself. Few changes I would have made would be keeping the larger back cap design of the amp, making the foregrip same length as the amp but thicker and only milled metal, went with the tool less eye cover the HK amp had, and finally these should have been polished imo. Dust finish makes everything look cheap.

Eh. I don't hate it. I think for me the question is why would I buy this over a new (still available!) 170R. It's priced below a new 180R sure, which may be their target to be beat, but that's just not the reality with the used market.

I'm just hoping it drives AMP mech prices down so I can add another mech to the gearbag.

It’s a tube. What do you expect? This isn’t an Intimidator. If you want hot milling then buy something older and/or stacked-tube. Or buy an aftermarket body kit for the single-tube. Not really much else to it.

I wouldn’t buy this one on principle, though. It’s a SP paintgun.

Being single tube has nothing to do with it laziness does

Sure most of these examples are high ends but since the new shocker breaks $1000 with tax it's in the big leagues

Shocker Amp wasn't bad other than that I didn't like the backcap

All of Bob longs single tubes have nice milling

            Vanquish 1 & 1.5

            Macdev xts

Hell even the luxe was pretty cool when it came out, tho after nearly 15 years of the same milling it's boring now

            Dyes markers look nice

You’re right, but only to a point. Some single-tube paintguns do look nice, but single-tube = less real estate. The most intricate & impressive millings are on stacked-tube paintguns, with very few (if any) exceptions.

Cost is not always a factor. I’ve seen nicer millings (IMO) on some Spyders than on much of the stuff available today. It’s all in an effort to make the most money with as little effort as possible. So yeah, manufacturers are lazy in this aspect, and they also don’t want to pay for it. It sucks, but unfortunately that’s how it is these days. I’m not sure how to change it aside from not buying those paintguns, and manufacturers aren’t going to do fancier milling jobs without price increases.

I dunno, man. I don’t like it either, but it is what it is.

            i dont get it.

as people have been saying, it looks like just about every other spool marker made in the past few years...

            CS2, CS3, geo
            160 / 170 / 180
            Etha 2 Etha 3
            Field 1 force
            MacDev drone, clone, prime
            ...
            the list keeps going.

you want milling? get an old bob long.

i think the last of the "lookers" (for me at least) were the G6r (with the gap) and LV1.1

If I'm paying over a few hundred dollars for a marker I want as little plastic as possible.
I hate rubberized grips on pretty much anything. Metal, wood, hard plastic, all fine but that overmolded rubber crap…no way. And those urine yellow rubber things from back in the day, same situation. Greasy slick slimy crap when things get filthy and not as easy to clean off as harder stuff. Also it gets damaged and peals off…like school on Thanksgiving day; no class.

I actually kinda like it and hope it’s successful at driving cvo/xls prices to where I don’t mind buying one.
