Mad Marty BE Rainmaker Mods Interview

Really neat stuff! If you're unfamiliar with RedHairesTrev, his channel is mostly focused on cool old school Angel stuff that's also worth checking out. But this Rainmaker stuff is great. I'm sure some of you will remember Mad Marty but this was all before my time.

Got a drill and some taps? You could do them yourself if you're handy.

Fascinating. I remember he kept those mods secret, which is smart business.

He made my old rainmakers run pretty awesome.... then I converted them to pump anyway.

So the general idea is to bevel the face of the hammer and install a trracer-like powertube into the hammer and carrier to promote smoother lockup?

What exactly was he doing with the striking face of the hammer? Was he adding a steel insert?

The bevel allows the sear to ride over the edge instead of crash causing the valve to pop open, the tube is essentially the Anti kink you would find on an aftermarket nelson internals. He drilled out the center of the aluminum hammers, threaded them, screwed a stainless screw into it and chopped it off flush. These mods are all explained in the mad Marty stick on this site
